Tranny hp tuners step in need help
This is my problem new performa built level 2 yank 3600 stall. When I was at the track this past sat. When I raced the car in D or 3rd off the line was fine pulling the fronts off the ground then when the car shifted into 2nd the car acted like it went to drive. Almost like a 6speed car going from 1st to 4th gear so I had to let off the gas put the car from drive to 2nd and it was fine and just cruised to the end of the track. Next race I started the car in 1st gear took it to 6700 rpm shifted into 2nd rapped that out good and strong then when I shifted into 3rd seems like the transmission tried to engage 3rd and 4th at the same time then the car snap back into power and was fine and ran a 10.50. When im on the street and hammer it the car is fine no problems at all all gears are fine and snap your head back. Everything is turned to stock line pressure and Torque magmt turned off. I talk to frank at performa built and he thinks you have to mess with the rpm and mph table can someone help me?? I also have the race data long on the race with drive on hp tunners. thanks guys.

I'd have to see a scanner log of the problem.
It sounds to me that you have a problem with the shift rpm and mph tables.
Did you get the car tuned after the converter install ?
In order for the trans to shift you have to exceed both the RPM table and the MPH table. I would check your WOT Shift speeds and WOT Shift RPM.
Also I found with my car, I had some troubles getting the car to shift where I wanted it to using the WOT RPM and MPH charts, so I copied the WOT MPH speeds to the regular shift mph table in the 80% to 100% cells.
DO you have HP Tuners ??
If so it may help if you post a scan log and mabey the tune also.

I found that the shift table optimized for the street didn't work at the track. I had to back the track shift points down a bit to get it to shift at the same rpm as it would do on the street. I think it was related to wheel spin or lack thereof when running good tires at the track.

What you are saying is not necessarily true. My built 4l60e is set to shift @ 6100 rpm 1-2 and 2-3 6000 3-4 my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are right @ 6050rpm on the street and on the track, rev limiter @ 6400 on a stock internal engine. I set up my clutches to 1/2 the tolerance of a factory rebuild. All I remember is the 3/4 clutch pack set up @ .015 instead of .030-.060. My 2-3 shift is very quick and strong.

Attached is the HPT log from the N/A pass made in drive. It goes from 1st to 4th almost immediately. Shift speed and shift rpm values, both in WOT and PT, are no where near being exceeded forcing the next gear. So what gives?

Attachments are not working correctly here. The file is the Standard HP Tuners Log file. It will open in the Scanner.
