Default Will I get any benefit from a stall when racing from a roll or say 30 mph?

I don't plan on dragging the car from a stop and all the benefits of a stall that I find on the internet seem to focus on launching the car from a dead stop. If that is the case would a gear swap from 2.73's to 3.73's be more effective than a stall for me while doing that type of racing?

You will notice a huge gain from a roll. The slower the roll, the more pronounced the effects will be. On top of that, a good converter will eliminate the "dead" spots we all hate. A 5-10 MPH roll is a thing of beauty these days!

Yes, the full effect of a converter will be most noticeable from a launch, but it is still the single best mod for an A4 car, whether you race it or not. I don't race mine that often, but I still wish I had bought the stall first.

why not get them both........lol but seriously the stall first but if you plan to do the gears later take that into consideration when buying the converter

Tune the car to downshift to 1st at 30mph when you kick-down...the converter will help BIG time...

And get some better tires. You'll need em.

From a roll period wether low or high the stall is going to give you a big improvement. From a low roll the engine will be right in the powerband from the time you floor it. And from a higher roll the shift extension helps eliminate the rpm drop off.

depends on the stall RPM higher would make a massive difference with a programed downshift to first
