I'm also leaning towards this swap as well. I know someone that is selling a 4l80e from a 92 3500 truck with about 70k miles on it. I'm curious as to how much more I'd need to do to make this work since it is an older model trans.

me and my friend are doing a 4l80e swap into his trans am. we pulled the tailshaft housing off and his output shaft had a bolt on yoke and the shaft had a metal sleeve that covered about half of it. i haven't read anything about this particular shaft and was wondering which out of the yokes in the link below we need. i'll post a picture soon. thanks.

Your stock driveshaft will work with the correct yoke and joint.. I used my t56 driveshaft and they are the same length as the 60's if I'm remembering right..

Guys what do you do about brake/fuel lines under the floor where they interfere with 4L80 tranny plug? Do you just bend them away?

Where do ya'll find the early ones?? I really want a pre-LSx 4L80e core to put a MVB in and replace the TH400 in my 61 between the bbc & 4.88 twelve bolt. The only core I have had a chance to get was $500.00.

I got mine for $325 off Craigslist...it's a 93 unit. Supposedly only had 75K on it, but I had it completely overhauled anyway.

Just in case noone has said it in this thread, we offer a dipstick for the 4L80E conversion in the f-bodies. Price is $71.70 plus shipping.

Call me at 225-673-3533 to place your orders.

Note: We don't list the 4L80E dipstick tubes on our website, but we do sell them. If we see a bigger demand for them, we will start stocking a small amount of the dipsticks.

From all of us at Madman & Co. Racing, Thank you.

We've never tried one in the GTO, so I don't know for sure.

nobody is going to order your dipstick if you dont advertise you sell one, I bought the lokar a short time ago because after searching for others it was the best choice. Had I known yall sell one I would have saved the extra 30 bucks.

We just started advertising these dipsticks and keeping them in stock about two weeks ago. Didn't see a demand until recently. Sorry we didn't catch you in time.

Hey, anyone that has bought a 4L80E dipstick recently, and has it installed, could you please snap a couple pictures of the installed dipstick for us? I have a couple of people that want installed photos, and we don't have any on hand. I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Steve
