Common Mistakes with TransGo Jr or regular shift kit installs?
Going to be putting my transmission back together after what may have been just a stuck tv valve. Since I took the valve body out, I installed a Transgo Jr SHift kit (real purpose was to get the thing that helps TV valves unstick). ANyways, I also installed a .500 boost tv boost valve.
I am awaiting a new valve body plate as mine is bent and gaskets. I have a friend assisting me also via the internet on basic help as I despise working on automatics.
But since many people do install trans go's, and you hear problems with no reverse, no forward gears etc., I thought it would be good to get it all in one thread to help people and myself.
So, any suggestions, insight, known problems, known mistakes on installs etc.
Mine in particular is a 4L60 1993.

1- Not getting the snap ring fully seated when changing the boost valve
2-Putting to many spacers in (I dont use any)
3-Leaving out or misplacing check *****
4-leaving out or misplacing the accumulator pin in the 4th accum in case
5-failure to tighten the bolts in metal plate towards rear of the trans.
6-on the 4l60e putting the three long 8mm head bolts in the wrong locations wiping out the sunshell
7-on the 700r4 putting the gold or yellow headed bolt at the forward accum tube in the wrong place or installing the wrong bolt in this location damaging the low reverse piston
8-swapping valve body gaskets top to bottom or wrong gaskets(700r4)The late gaskets will work on any model in the 700r4.
9-making the 3rd accum feed hole to large causing rev bump or flare on the 2-3 shift
10-misalignment or tearing of gaskets when putting valve body back up.
11-Leaving the manual linkage off
12- forgetting to put the gate spring and roller back on held by the 13 mm bolt
13-forgetting to put the clip back in after removale of valves.
Well theres a few I have run into helping people if I think of more I will edit

Awesome. I had the aux body bolt strip, the one that holds the accumulator feed tube (whatever that tube is that feeds hydraulics from one part of the tranny to other)
ANd the 4th gear accumulator piston pin slid out and was in my oil drain pan.
How much loss in pressure if the TV boost valve isnt all the way in?
Thanks

And, with the snap ring in holding the Boost valve, will the valve be able to be pushed up a little, or is it snug once the snap ring is in?

If the snap ring is good all is fine, if not the presure is 0

getting creative and plugging the feed hole on the 1-2 accum with a better than sex servo and braking the band...man it had a nice 1-2 shif 2 times lol
turning the torx screw on the epc more than a 1/4 turn with the feed hole plugged and a better than sex servo
