wierd trans problem?
I got my car back this past saturday and it was tuned and running great, i get it home and i'm drivin all over town, the interstate, just normal driving. when im going hom it wont lock up crusing on the highway, and even weirder, when i was sitting at a traffic light, i mad my turn into my neighborhood and the car just acted like it was pushed into neutral? the motor went to like 3000rpms and stayed there till i coasted into a parking lot and stopped. i shut it off and pull the pcm ign and bat fuses to reset the ecm thinking i got locked out of gear... well after that it fired up and actually ran like i didt reset which was odd? but it rolled like normal just wouldnt lock up. im close to home and she does the same thing, just revs up and quits rollin. it did this 5 times with in 2 miles of gettin home. now when i went to atlanta to get it we rode around tryin to figure out why it wouldnt lock and figured it out and made the changes and it was fine. it was fine for the 2-3 hours i drove it at home? and now i can start it put it in drive and maybe roll 100 feet before it doesnt wanna go anymore, any ideas?
Maybe your filter is full of lockup clutch. I recently had an issue like this come into the shop. The complaint was almost identical to yours about no lockup and a neutral condition. I cracked that filter open and guess what I saw? I need to get some pictures of that filter.
ok but let me tell you what it did today just now, this is gettin on my nerves now lol. i fired her up and just went, didnt warm her up or anything, and she drove just fine. and get this when it got over 140 degrees, it locked up....? and it stayeds locked up till i came to a stop sign and then it did the neutral thing again. so i shut her down and fired her back up and she drove but did lock up and i made it hom e but it would climb my driveway and i had to shut her down and fire her back up again. this is the last time im gonna drive it till i get the computer tomorrow and try the different parameters on it.

I recently had a similar situation....turned out the rebuilt pump rotor to shell clearances were extreme, and when the fluid got hot and viscous the pump just couldn't build enough pressure....
Pulled the tranny and that was it

well i changed the fluid and filter, the filter didnt look clogged. the fluid was burnt and the pan had some crap in it but nothing out of the ordinary. after that, drove fine. drove 120 miles and no hiccups. i took that accumulater assembly off the back left corner of the valve body to check the piston and see if its cracked like Vince told me and it wasnt, but it also wasnt moving on the shaft hardly. i cleaned it up and got it moving freely and put it back together. wondering if it was getting stuck?
Its possible on the accum but I have also seen filters collapse and pull into the filter neck cause this ,

I cut her filter open and it was fine so im guessing it was that piston, thanks vince for telling me that. my Olds' TH350 never gave me any trouble lol its time for a change i think.
Sounds like you got it fixed for now. We are currently getting the back log of orders down to 2-3 weeks very soon. We have added a couple of guy's to help out at the shop and the results are looking very good. When you are ready Stan make sure that you give me a call. Glad to be of service with your issues.
