Ok so my 98 corvette went into the machine shop 3 months ago for a blown motor well i went to get my car back today and my reverse doesnt work but wen i took it to the shop it worked fine is ther some thing that they could have forgot to hook back up or does it really go out that damn easy also i couldnt get my car because the column lock screwed up agen i have had this problem fixed 4 times what can i do to fix this cus i guess chevy doesnt know how evidently

you have 2nd and 4th gear right

yeah man it worked in every gear except reverse so i dont know what the hell is wrong with it and like i said it was fine before i took it to the machine shop

well sounds like it mysteriously went out either the low reverse clutches are not coming on or the revrse input is not applying try to hold the shifter inbetween p and reverse and see if it tries to engage reverse it may be out of adjustment

i kept going back and fourth between reverse and neutral and ther was nothing realy between but a few times when i put it in reverse it felt kinda like it went in reverse then i pushed the gas to see if it did and it still acted as if it was in neutral

yeah man the shifter has to be out of adjustment

aight man so is ther any specific way that i sould go about taking it apart to adjust it o by the way i forgot to tell u that the shop said that they had it in reverse like 20 min before i got ther but when i got in the car it didnt work

well like i have said before if the reverse is not there then either the cable is not correct or there is internal damage hard to say how it happened maybe when they were test driving the car they got a little to happy maybe maybe they accidentally went into reverse while going forward who knows maybe it was just coincidence however Reverse is a manual function nothing electronic controls reverse so its either as i have said internal damage or shifter cable is out of adjustment. you have 2nd and 4th so the sunshell is not broken which operates R also

well if its internal it will have to be removed and fixed basically tore down. so pretty much a rebuild

yeah i just looked at that if i had the money i would go ahead and do it but i just wrote a 2000 dollar check for my motor my warranty covered the other 2500 thank god but one day when i have the money that sounds like a damn good plan i like the stage three because it clearly states invincible lol
