Default Best 4L60E performance rebuild company???

New to the site so hello to everyone.

I'm sure this won't be a "new" thread topic but I've gotta ask anyway....who makes the best aftermarket rebuild for a 4L60E? I was told that I'll definitely be breaking mine soon with all the new mods. I've heard of a couple of places to go.....Cahall, Ace, etc.

So I'd like to have you guys opinion, from experience, which place you've had the most satisfaction from.

To help you decide, my car should (hopefully) run somewhere in the low 12's(if not high 11's if I can get all the weight out). It's a '97 WS6 and the converter is a Yank SS3600. Gears are Motive 3.73's.

Thanks for the mention, we are relatively new here at LS1Tech. We signed on as sponsors back in the summer. Other sponsors have been here a for several years and others not as long as that.

My recomendation would be to seek opinons like you are and then pick up the phone and call those companies you think you would consider to do your build. I know it sounds obvious, but you might be surprised at how many folks don't do that.

Good Luck with the car... and welcome to LS1Tech!

Thanks for the reply. While I do plan on calling two or three of the top recommended, I've heard that you guys do pretty good job. What can I expect to spend on a strong, performance 4L60E?

Currently, we have sale on our transmissions and converters. Click on the link in my signature, it will take you stright to the information about the sale. From there, go to my website to learn more about the transmissions and who we are.... then give me a call so we can help you determine which transmission is right for you for now and in the future.

We really do not market our transmissions with a for say HP rating. To me that is a sales pitch. Reason being is that they are used in many different applications and some of you run them harder than others. The level 5 units are built for forced induction applications with power adders such as supercharger, turbo or big nitrous systems. Obviously the weight and the mods of the vehicle is what will delegate the hp ratings. We have fbodies and corvettes that are well into the 700rwhp #'s. I will be honest with any customer that calls looking for advise on a purchase. It's not about the sale of a trans. It's about getting you the right trans for your needs. Feel free to give us a call anytime. Vince

Hey Vince, didn't I read somewhere that you and Chuck are moving to Washington, DC to set up shop? They're gonna need a new interior decorator if so!

I think ever sponsor here can give you what you need we each offer different things. different levels of customer service and warranties Just look around and do a search . You will fine both good and bad a but a overall you will find we all are quite good. I can say we stand behind our warranty to the letter on our units and have the longest warranty of all.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I ended up doing a search (which is probably what I should've done in the first place) and have 2-3 places I will be calling. Looks like I need to start putting some more nickels aside for this mod though..lol.

FLT hands down....longest warranty doesn't necessarily mean it's the best warranty. Look into such things as refresh costs as well. FLT is the only one that offers a refresh special at this time and you can't beat it. The refresh special is good for as long as you own your tranny. That was very important to me. Call Vince....you'll be thrilled that you did.

yeah the longest warranty does not mean much when you are swapping out the 2nd trans from the same sponsor & you have to pay shipping back to that builder at $75 a crack & then having your converter sent out to be cleaned again that you have to pay $ for too & the fluid cost & then of coarse your labor & time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! add it all up & make the right choice first, FLT here i come

Just wanted to throw our name out there as well. Give us a call and we will discuss our rebuild modifications with you. We rebuild on a one-to-one basis, meaning that we don't have different levels of transmissions to choose from. Call us, tell us what you want and that is what we'll do.
