Hey im just wondering would a converter increase my highway power like from a roll thanks...

I have to disagree with the "meant for a stop" comment. The benifit of higher shift extension from a roll (or stop) is huge; of course considering you have a decent sized stall <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Mike, you'd be surprised the fits I give similarly modded M6s from a roll at the right speeds. <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> Espically if they aren't very good drivers... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Everyone's different like you said. I personally felt like the Vig 2800(true 3200) was more than enough with 3.23's. But then again, I just don't enjoy driving around convertered autos.

And yes your right, converters can be useful at many different speeds(depending upon what you have). General consensus though is that aftermarket torque converters are primarily bought for their low-end "holeshot" advantage(at least thats why I would buy one).

A converter in the 3500-3800 range will give you great highway racing capabilities w/o sacrificing too much driveability.

 

A good converter is VERY beneficial from a roll. They get rid of the dead spot between gears and insure that you're never caught "between gears."

If I were to pick from a nice camshaft or a 4400 stall in a rolling race I'd take the converter hands down. The cam/stock converter car would absolutely get KILLED.

And to the original poster of this thread, sorry. Not trying to deter it. The best advice anyone could give you is that you should go find others locally(and there will be) in your area who have upgraded converters and ride/drive in them to see what'll be best for your LS1.
