Default Bop Th400

67 bird, s80 or 85 turbo, 408. Debating 4L80E or the TH400 I already have that was attached to a 464ci pontiac solid roller motor. It's already built and only has a couple thousand miles on it, and also has a reverse manual valve body but not transbrake (need one of those). Okay, so... this is a buick olds pontiac style th400, do I need to whack the bell off and get an ultrabell or something? I know for SFI reason I will, but what do I need to bolt this thing to the back of that 408? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance guys.

Tony

I would just aquire a Chevy TH400 case and swap the internals over shouldnt cost much to have it done. Not sure what ultra bells cost but I imagine swaping cases would be cheaper ,

Good ol butler... been a while since I've heard that name. I'll check and see. I still really want the 4L80E just because of lockup. Better gas mileage, less trans heat, would be great for cruising on the highway to the coast! =)
