Default What shifters are most of you th400/th350 guys using?

I have my t56 out of the car and the th400 ready to go in as soon as my converter shows up. But I haven't ordered a shifter for the setup yet. I was thinking about running the b&m hammer ratchet shifter because I read that it fits a 6 speed consule pretty well. What other options would you recomend?

I allways liked the B&M Pro stick or the Hurst quarter stick. I think the Hurst is a little better/stronger shifter but the gates can be changed on the B&M to work with different trannys ect.

i have a quarter stick in my truck, we run a cheetah in the 'bu. The cheetah is a badass unit (im not real fond of the NSS though) but its expensive.

cheetah. the hammer does fit nice in an m6 console, but you have to give it a good tug to shift. the cheetah you can flick back with two fingers.

I have a RMVB and drive it on the street. My B&M Pro Stick hasn't let me down yet.
You really need to get some quality time with different shifters if at all possible to see what you really like. A lot of guys love rachet type shifters, I hate em. Its just personal preference.

**** the ratchet...It's a stupid design, weird to operate. B&M Pro Stick is what I have and it's awesome. I've also driven a car with the Hurst QuarterStick and it's just a good.

Before you make a final decision, check out the shifters made by Precision Performance Products <precisionperformance.com>. If you want validation regarding the superiority of this unit, go to an NHRA national event and take a look at what the fastest Comp Eliminator and Super Stock Eliminator cars using automatic transmissions use. It has one-hand operation and incorporates the most positive shifting gates and trouble-free operation I've ever seen on any shifter. In five years of using this shifter it has never failed to perform flawlessly on my Super Stocker and it would work just as well on the street.

I see a lot of you recommending the B&M pro stick. I am a newbie when it comes to race style automatic shifters, so could someone please explain how the B&M pro stick functions w/ a rmvb. I am just trying to find a shifter that gives the quickest shifts, yet isnt a total pain in the *** on the street.
