Thumbs up Vig 3600...my first impressions.

I had a MW 3500 stall in my car before...I got the Vig 3600 installed about a month ago.
I drove the car straight home on the interstate & put it in the garage until the nice weather hit. Outside of a few short pulls out of toll booths, I didn't have any chance to feel the converter out.

I took it out tonight for a little cruising & got to hit it from first gear & some city speeds.

Around town it is not unruly at all, it is looser than what I've had before but not annoying. (The car still will rol a littlel at idle when you let off the brake.) The tune on the trans works great--Thanks to Jim over @ Speed Inc! It locks up & stays locked up until your ready to give it some pedal. The car has very "normal" driving manners.

I'm on 17" ET radials, it is around 55* out, so they are cold & they have around 28 psi in them. Punching it from a few miles per hour, it will spin the tires easily through 2nd gear, the converter flashes to around 4k, hard to tell exactly where it goes to, trying to watch the road. I haven't tried it from a dead stop yet or tried to foot brake it..Going to the track next weekend.

From just about any roll speed, it puts it in the power band immediately, the RPMs come down to about 5500 on my car when it shifts up a gear. It doesn't seem to hit the tires real hard, it seems kind soft in comparison to my old MW & the YANK that I had in my Z. I'm not complaining at all, I think that will help in the long run to keep the 10 bolt alive.

This converter is a popular choice & now I know exactly why. I can't wait to try it out next weekend & see some results on the slips.

That is my attempt to convey my thoughts on the Vig, let me know if you have any questions.

Yeah, the Vig converters seem to be pretty underrated on stall speed. Some of my friends thought I was on crack for going from a 3500 to onel that is rated at 3600. I knew it was going to be a much bigger difference than it appeared though.

Let me know what kind of gains you get with that MW. Thanks again!

I just installed my Vig on Friday! It's a Vig 3600 as well. It's waaay different to drive for sure. The shift extension is awesome. (Right terminology?) It will shift, then get right back in the powerband instantly. I'm still breaking it in, but I will floor it in about 200 miles and I'll let y'all know.

Yeah, I wouldn't want them on a daily driver.

Nice times. What were your times with the MW converter?

I recently purchased a Vig 3600 from Speed Inc, and will see in a couple of weeks if any improvement on my et's.

I got mine from Speed Inc too...
The best I had with the MW was 11.67 w/ the stock wheels & MT radials.

you might want to check out the Nitto 555R's. I get pretty good traction with them, they last a good while longer than the MT's and i've done fine in the rain.
