Ok i recently swapped in th400 with a reverse VB, brake ect... in my 98Z that was once a 4l60e car. I'm looking to install a Cheetah shifter. I was wondering what wires go to the back up lights? Also is there any thing i need to do to the computer. I removed all the old cables and stuff and now the car will not start. I hooked up the linkage to the old shifter and the car will start but dies soon there after. Any info will be appreciated.

Not sure on this as I have not done mine yet, but I did do the M6 to A4 swap... There is two wires that are used for the Neutal safety switch.. This might be why the car dies....

There are now wires on the Cheetah shifter specifically. Only the neutral safety switch. I'm devising a way to do this myself, but haven't really thought of it much so far.

I just recently bought a cheetah shifter and the only wires that your able to hook up is for the trans brake and reverse lights.

Anyone know how to bypass the neutral safety switch?

Stick or Auto? If it's a stick, just splice into the lower clutch position switch. Just disconnect the wire and splice in a piece to the neutral safety switch. If it's an auto, I have no idea. Send BlackSunshine00SS a message.

You just need to connnect the two wires... Which ones, you will need to look at a wiring diagram..

If you do this, and you race in sanctioned events, you may get busted for no neutral safety switch. Not a concern for most, but if you run in brackets or something.

I am doing the MN6 - TH400 and using a stock shifter. A buddy of mine has devised a way to modify the stock shifter for 3 gears and reverse operation. He even has a replacement decal for the gear indicator!
