Sounds like my old PY3600 I bought it and about 20 miles later the lock up went out i sent it back and was told it was my fault i had to much line pressure, cost me 250.00 more + the shipping and guess what the lock up took a **** in less than 40 miles, called them and again got the run around but at this point i was so pissed i just ran the converter anyway I tuned the lock up out, car went a best of 9.81@137. I later pulled the converter and sent it to FTI. Turns out the problem was in improper machining in the cover causing my lock up clutch issues that yank charged me 250.00 and blamed it on line pressure. I had FTI fix it and restall the converter and the car ran a best of 9.49@144 and the lock up still works today.

I would vote against the Yank

I was about to pull the trigger on a Yank PT4400 since they were on sale this month but a few comments in this thread made me want to call Circle-D first. I liked everything I heard and it ended up being $95 cheaper then Yanks sale price. So I went ahead and ordered thier 5C converter right there over the phone.

It'll be installed next week along with a performabuilt lvl 3 4L60E and a healthy H/C/I package. I'll let you guys know how it feels and how it does at the track.

I have yet to run my Yank, which I purchased last year. I recently called them to check on a build specification, and there was no record of my purchase. Hope I don't need any warranty work...

good to see there is another converter doing good in the market...would love to see some times before and after converter stall with similiar DA conditions to see how efficient they are...

I know my yank works amazing...SS4000 did a 1.4000 60ft cam only, also my ss3600 was no slouch either...good luck on your decision

Yank and Circle-D are both very good products. I have heard nothing but good things from both. I have the Yank PT4000 and happy with it. But I'm thinking about changing my setup some which means a new converter. I'll probably go with Circle-D since they are practically down the road from me, and wanting it turn-key. Location is the biggest issue for me know. But I have no problem with Yank, very good converter.

can really compare it to a fuddle...i mean doesnt really tell much...would like to see it versus stock or a vig or yank...the key is similar DA conditions...

from mid summer to a - DA day in spring or fall my car will fluctuate 4mph

Typo, I actually picked up 4mph.

And the 115MPH run was about 1 month ago it was cooler by maybe 5 degree's on the 115 run.

how is the 5c from a roll? I have a tci 3500 stall is great form a dig but form a roll it leaves alot on the table...I want a converter that does well form a roll as well as a dig..Ive been eyeing the pt series at one time as I hear they are great from a roll ,and dig...so let me hera your thought to those that have a 5c...Off topic but can a 5c be sprayed? or will it just blow through it

I'm in the process for a new converter, and am debating between these two. Circle D +4C or Yank SS4000.

I just installed my Circle-D 4c. Replaced my TCI streetfighter 3000 with it. This thing pulls so much harder it feels like i have a completely different motor in the car. From dig or from a 60+mph roll this thing is just nasty. Great street manners for a stall this size too. Going to the track tomorrow, maybe i'll finally get an 11.xx pass!! Big thanks to Chris at Circle-D! Great customer service.

Three Yanks here and all have been flawless. The only way I'd ever replace my current PT4400 is if I drastically change my setup some day.

The 5C will crush the TCI 3500 in all aspects. I ran a TCI 3800 for a short period with this setup and hated it for the same reason you stated above. Then I switched to a Yank PT4000 which is a great converter. I really liked it, but I wanted a harder hit out of the hole so I switched to the 5C and love it. As I mentioned in my previous post, this converter gives up nothing to the PT4000 from a roll, and in fact feels better. But the PT series is definitely a great n/a converter and popular for a reason.
