Default Yank converters came thru for me

My stall was too tight....contacted Yank...said send it back...they restalled it and now it seems PERFECT...cant wait to hit the track. It stalls about 600rpm higher on the tbrake but drives just like it did...I love it!!

In the past, i have been very critical of Yanks attitude towards me on the phone. I had contacted them in the past a few times and just didnt feel like I could buy their product with the attitude of their responses to my inquiries. I eventually saw Mightymouse' results and said "screw it" and bought their converter anyway. This time though my questions were answered in a totally different manner and I was feeling very good about my decision to make a purchase from them. With the restall process, again, I was treated VERY well. I got a call when my converter shipped as well which is VERY unusual. Seems Yanks customer service has caught up with their converter quality and thats a great thing!!!! Thanks Yank!!!!

sweet man. yea i bet the 3.4k is great on your engine, i still feel like i need more for the brake, but i think its more the fault of the brake being slow as all get out to engage.

i am anxious to a fix for that

I've been working with Rossler on the brake in the 80E. With a spring and orifice size change I believe... He can make it fast enough for most. With a few more mods it is lightning fast now. Give him a call...

Thanks for the info Mike. I am not a racer, just a TNT guy so its fast enuff for me. I wanted to get a Midwest like yours but didnt have the money....well didnt have enuff skill to slide it by the wife

David, mine now jumps to 3000 on the brake and then builds up to 3500 pretty quickly....havent tried to make it go higher. It must be my cam but this 408 has no *** on the bottom end...NONE!! My wife drove it a few months ago at the track at 7psi...no burnout ...on nittos and ran 11.65 her first pass ever in the car. It just dont have enuff ***** on nutz to spin the tires with the 3.08 gear and 3000 stall. Your mom could drive my car at 7psi and run the same times!! At 3500rpms, it had 4.5psi last night on the brake...may go up with my race tune in and the cutout opened ...ill let you know. At 3psi it 60'd 1.55 or 1.57...i forget which. I am happy with the Yank...it drives very well around town and stalls 600rpm more like they said it would with the restall. One day i will swap the cam out becuase mine must be way wrong...238/238 116lsa +2

thanks mike, put in the call, now i just gotta take apart my perfectly functioning car and ship the thing off.

do you think it is 'worth' for me to buy the extra piece he was talking about to make the brake release faster. i am on a pro tree maybe 10 passes a year total.

David hit me up....as long as i am on the footbrake to at least 1000rpms...mine engages in 1 sec or less...Carl just had Jim drill a hole in mine bigger i think. wonder if the tranny would work fine with the brake valvebody gone so you could still drive it

I think the quick fix is just a bigger hole and possibly a spring. Which I believe can be done just by dropping the valvebody. The super fast brake for us pro tree guys requires more work.
If you don't run on a pro tree that much the quick fix will do...

i am just cleaning up from the mess that is automatic trans valvebody removal wooo fun.

took the brake and the v/b plate off to ship back for the works. still undecided about the pro tree mod, but if i can nip this in the bud entirely in one shot its worth a couple bux to stay outa these damn trans's

You haven't made that car fast yet...... This is Jon (03flamedcobra) from bhamracing( the one with the nitrous eaton cobra with flames). I haven't been around for a while and I'm getting geared up to make my corvette fast now.

Hey Ray,
I believe it is just us 80 guys. Carl actually had to add another dump valve in order for it to release fast enough for me. Hits hard and fast now.

Dave @ Yank really helped me out a LOT. Dave knew I was having a tough time with my tranny issues back in March and gave me the deal of a lifetime to upgrade from the SS3600 to a PT4000. He was on the phone or email correpondence (nearly everyday) helping me out. Glad you got taken care of.

Mightymouse, my driveway "3step" experiment has me to launch boost 1.5 secs quicker. I just ordered the next smaller size exhaust housing and should be pretty close to you in spool characteristics and will repeat the test to see the results...should be this coming week.
