Vig 3200 or Vig 3600?
I have an appointment to get some work done on my 02 SS with the following mods in my sig. What I want to know is which stall should I run the Vig 3200 or the Vig 3600? The car is not a daily driver. I want it to hold its own on the street and definately at the track. What are the pros of running a 3600 and the cons of running it.

I just went 11.85 (stock internals) with a 3800 TCS converter. Basic Yanks are made outta crap. Vigs are good, but for the price...TCS is really the best. That's TCS NOT TCI(crap).
Just my 2 cents.
Oh Yeah, and they're a sponsor here ---> 13th from bottom.

02BlueFirehawk, what STR did you order your TCS 3800 with? Also, what kind of shift extension and 60' have you been seeing with this converter. I e-mailed Derek about the 3800 with 2.52 str, but haven't heard back from him yet. I'll probably try just giving him a call.
Thanks
Jeff

if you get the 3200, you'll want the 3600. I did. You can't feel a difference on the street but the 3600 has a higher STR and gained me about a tenth over the 3200.

Re: Vig 3200 or Vig 3600?
Jeff,
I originally had a 3600 1.92 STR. The best it pulled was a 1.61. The 2nd gear in the tranny went out on that run too. lol.
I have a TCS Stage III tranny now and had my converter restalled to a 3800 with a 2.5 STR. Best with it so far was 1.62 but I know there's more in there if I get some weight off the front, ie, skinnies. Need a little more hook too.

I love my Vig3200. It is the best of both worlds. On the street under normal driving it feels almost stock, but at the track it really does well. After about 150 passes at the dragstip I have had no problems and no ses codes. I am sure which ever one you go with you will be from ear to ear

If you are interested I am planning on selling mine very soon, but right now would be the best time since my car is up on jack stands for at least another week. If you are interested email or PM me. It has been in the car for only 6 months with probably only 2k miles or less on it...it stays in the garage more than it gets driven Hope this helps with your decision. Take care and good luck!

Re: Vig 3200 or Vig 3600?
I love my vig 3200. The reason I went with it is because everyone always says they wished they could have gone with a bigger stall. I also heard that there is a difference between street converters and race converters. PI makes better street converters than race converters. Yank makes better race converters.

Cut a 1.62 on the 11.85 run. I've gone 1.61 with the older 3600 stall. Only had a chance to make 2 passes last night. I'm sure I can cut some 1.5x with it.
