Question Chrysler Delta Show Car

A look into what the future may hold for Chrysler in another year or two as Fiat's ownership (hopefully) starts bearing fruit.

Like the Opel Insignia to new Buick Regal GM is showing at NAIAS the Chrysler Delta is an Italian Lancia Delta with a Chrysler grille and badging. It has not been confirmed for the US market (yet).

Design

A strong-marked nose and fluid, aerodynamic lines: Delta is a concentrate of innovation and design. The poetry of the Flying Bridge encounters the technology of the two-colour roof that rests directly on the rear window. Each line is emphasised by chrome-detailed finish. Luxury that is never flaunted: an originality that avoids useless overstatements, that always preserves elegance. Three specifications (Silver, Gold, Platinum) and four types of interior trim (High-tech fabrics, Leather and Alcantara®, Poltrona Frau® leather, Leather and Alcantara® Starlite.

Substance

Instinct and self-control. On the Delta, state-of-the-art technology for total driving pleasure, promoted by forefront systems that guarantee complete safety. Such as the Absolute Handling System, a Delta evolution of ESP: perfect control of stability on any type of road. Or the Driving Advisor, the device that, using an electronic sensor, warns the driver that he is straying over the edge of the lane with an impulse on the steering wheel.

A concentrate of evolution, a hyperbolic expression of technology. On board, thanks to the Instant Nav, the most recent innovation in integrated navigation systems and the Blue&Me™ system with USB port which offers Bluetooth®, reading aloud of text messages, music in MP3, WMA, WAV format and hands-free communication. Without ever taking your hands off the steering wheel.

Soul

With its new engines, obviously all Turbo, the New Delta speeds along. The petrol versions feature 16 valves and 6-speed gearbox. The diesel versions are Euro 5 Ready with particulate filter: maximum performance and maximum respect for the environment.

Wow, not a fan at all!! I'm not surprised though. Ugly, egg-shaped cars with no style should be expected from a government owned car company.

There's a reason you don't see many Lancias on the road....80% of their lineup looks awful.

Well considering his location says 'Germany' I'm going to assume he's speaking from experience.

I don't think the back looks bad at all. The front however, is an eyesore.

Exactly what I thought when I saw it,
glad I'm not the only one that thinks they look the same.

The front shot was interesting, reminded me of the 300M.

I do like the interior of it.
