Default GM stepping up!! Z06X and Camaro SSX coming!!

http://www.fquick.com/blog/Corvette_...SX_Camaro/4033

Corvette Z06X and SSX Camaro
Two track-equipped badasses.

Yesterday, GM announced the release of the General Motors Performance Parts Z06X Corvette and SSX Camaro. These uniquely track-equipped versions of the Corvette and Camaro will be built by GM and Pratt & Miller Engineering (of Corvette Racing and Camaro race car fame). Pfadt Race Engineering was selected as the exclusive and premier manufacturer for the suspension equipment on both vehicles. The Performance oriented packages will be available to the public through every GM dealer as part of the GMPP (General Motors Performance Parts) catalog. Boasting of select carbon bodywork, lightweight components throughout, increased horsepower, upgraded brakes, wheels and tires; this Corvette Z06X is the real deal track machine.

I was so hoping they'd let SLP do it so we could have a Corvette Z06 Firehawk.

I don't know what was more retarded. The blatant attempt to capitalize on a sacred nameplate or the people who jumped in to the defend SLP's attempts to obviously capitalize on a sacred nameplate.

Besides the "track ready", "lightweight components" and "more horsepower" talking, what are their exact specifications and price? Until I dont see any of that I would refrain to cal them "stepping up".

The car hasn't even been tested and you're already getting all Mustang-protective?

Pro-mustang much?

Like I said I-don't-know-how-many-times before...this is going to be the norm now...back and forth. With the SSX and Z28, GM will take the lead from the Mustang GT Track and GT500 for a year. Next year Ford will have something to up the ante and take the lead back...and so on and so forth. While i'm definitely partial to the Camaro, i'm not going to sit here and cry about whether it's fastest or not.
