Well got my email for the 2012 COPO Camaro. We ordered the 327/4.0Whipple model.

Heres the list lets hear what everyone has to think?!?!

Looks like the 5.3L is a basicly a DEStroked LS7, I was wondering how they were going to make those LS7 heads work

Are you going to run it in Super Stock SSA/A where it falls naturally according to the weight break (5.50 to 5.99)? That will be awesome if you do.

They all will be cool cars for sure. Good luck with it.

Something doesn't add up... 327 with a 4.0 supercharger and only 550 HP. Someone is lowballing.

How are they getting away with rating the 427 at 425? Are these supposed to be rwhp numbers? Does this mean we get small bore LS7 heads from GM now?

its not a small bore... its an LS3 block/bore... and as the 1st part, yeah, that engine in a Z06 with a MUCH smaller cam makes 505, wtf?

Guys.. Of course the power numbers are sandbagged to hell. Check out the Cobra Jets and you will question those too. It's possible they don't measure peak numbers, but rather set the ratings at a lower point in the power band. They may be accurate, just not optimal.


I can't believe how light they get these things! The Challengers were similarly svelte I read and looking inside they looked factory except for the Viper buckets and rear seat delete. I'd like to see exactly what is done to get these weights out of these cars. Hopefully the straight axle packages trickle down through the performance parts division.

LS7 is a 4.125 bore not 4.065.

Congratulations on the order! What do you know about the weight of the car you ordered and what do these things cost in that form? The weights listed are extremely low, amazingly low even... We'll guess the "Biggest" package will weigh the most, but regardless, it's a lightweight package! Scale that bad boy right away so we'll know a bit more about accuracy of GM's claims.

Actually the Biggest package is least according to GM! (Got the 327/4.0L) was around 97K

Its a small bore for LS7 heads. Thats why rpm and tsp have small bore LS7 heads.

They don't have to be SAE numbers. The Cobra Jets are done the same way.
