why cant this be an apples-apples comparison? these are official lap times by factory drivers.

if they looked the same there wouldnt be a 6sec gap in time given how close the cars are in performance.

the skidpad isn't the end all\be all for handling. you need to get out on the track for that, like they did vs the boss302.

almost forgot......1.03 to .98.........miniscule difference. like truly not worth mentioning.
BTW .98g is what MT got for the GT500 on the skid pad, they also got the highest 1/4 mile time for it too so i doubt its lack of driver skill not getting a higher reading on the skid pad.

i don't know who was driving the camaro, but i think that they said it was one of the engineers driving the shelby.

Even if they had the same drivers for each car you still have to factor in weather and track conditions and that could make a big difference.

correct, no VIR or Ring times have been released, i listed the link to show both times were "official" lap times.

I would assume when the factory runs an official lap time in road racing or 1/4 mile they do so in favorable track/weather conditions.

I agree but people will argue that they either pad the numbers or the car may have a little extra so in order to "try" to silence the crap talkers you have to have the same driver on the same day but even then some people will argue the facts because it doesn't suit thier believes.

Haters gonna hate... you don't need logic to hate, you just need to be bias that's it!

To me it's humorous that the GT500 goes to The Ring and doesn't release it's time... And how can you say the ring is just a marketing scam? It's the most respected track in the world and you need a quality car to be able to put up a good time on that track. The ZL1 releases it's numbers despite being significantly slower than the ZR1, the SRT8 Jeep posts it's numbers despite being MUCH slower than the equal competitor from BMW.

IF Ford was proud of their number, you can bet your *** they'd post it and laugh their asses off for beating the ZL1 in their own game(twisties).

^^^ alot of people don't feel the ring is a good place to test since most of us will never go there without understanding the benefits of testing on what is one of if not the hardest track in the world in every way possible. I also think that Chevy knew they would be able to beat the GT500 easier on the track then they would the strip without getting to close to the vettes numbers which is why they built the car the way they did. Ford had no problem posting numbers for everything they did that beat Chevy except that maybe they do have something to hide maybe not guess we will never know.

i say again....bring someone like sabine schmitz over here, and have her lap em both......or take em both there, and let her lap em. apparently she knows the ring well, so she's gonna get good numbers outta them.

GT500 didnt show up until 1967. Production was 67-70 and didnt pick up again until 2007 and then on to 2013. So a total of 9 years in production. 2012 is the first year the ZL1 name was used by GM to market the Camaro. I can link sources if anyone is interested.

Know you well enough it's for feather ruffling purposes but I have heard people say **** like this and mean it...

Guess it's like a Green Bay fan telling Dolphin Fan "we just kicked your ***" and wiping the Cheetos powder off his fat ***.

Whole lotta butthurt from people over 2 cars the people posting will likely never even drive, much less own.
