Dodge Challenger Artist Rendering
http://www.autoblog.com/entry/1234000013051179/
NOTHING OFFICIAL HERE, just an artist rendering. While it is much more retro in design than either the Charger or 300, I really dig it. However as with the current Mustang I'd still prefer something fresh rather than a rehash of a classic because where do you go after the current product runs its design route? Besides while this rendering is hot it's waaaay too much '71 'Cuda. Not that there's anything wrong with that seeing as how the '70 and '71 E-Body 'Cudas were IMO hotter than their Challenger bretheren. After Plymouth died there has been constant talk of using old school 'Cuda design cues on a new age Challenger or even building a Chrysler 'Cuda since before the LX cars debuted. Although I'm sure that would upset a few Mopar fanatics in the same way the 4 door Charger did. In any case this rendering is a nice idea and while I'm sure Chrysler will incorporate some retro cues I hope they do something new rather than go the retro route like Ford did with the Mustang. Yes it's hot but it's a dead end and shows that you're designers have no game and no fresh ideas when it comes to penning eye candy for the road.
On a side note I hope Chrysler has a 6 speed stick lined up to back the Hemi that will undoubtedly find it's way into this sucker. A new age Challenger without a manual transmission would simply be a crime.
