Default Will the Camaro be on the same platform as the GTO?

So will the new Camaro be on the same platform as the GTO? Here's how I'd like to see it...

Z28 RS - LS2
Z28 SS - LS7

GTO - LS2
GTO Judge - LS7

If it will be on the same platform as the GTO, does that mean there will be no v6's since there is no v6 GTO's? I hope that's the case, but they will probably have v6 models because it would be a money maker for them.

We need the V6 for CAFE and insurance purposes. The best thing that could happen for GM is that the sell 100,000 V6's to normal people and 50,000 V8's to "car guys".

Z28-LS2 excetly like the GTO's LS-2
SS- LS2 with a different cam and heads or SLP will produce the SS
ZL-1/GTO Judge-LS-7 same as whats in the Z06

No different cam and heads. GM will not do that, and there is no reason to.

Here's how I'd like to see it...
Z28-LS2 exactly like the 'Vette LS-2
SS- LS2 with a different cam and heads

GTO - Gone
GTO Judge - Maybe when they come with a design that looks like a GTO.

Why do you say that?

I think it should be...

Camaro Z28 RS - 6.0L 364 ci LS2
Camaro Z28 SS - 6.0L 364 ci LS2 supercharged
Camaro ZL-1 - 7.0L 427 ci LS7 (limited number produced, like maybe 100)

GTO - 6.0L 364 ci LS2
GTO Judge - 6.0L 364 ci LS2 supercharged

I don't think we should have any more than 3 different Camaros. Too many is too much, IMO...like the 4th gen Firebird. You had the Formula, Formula WS6, Trans Am, Trans Am WS6, Firehawk Formula, Firehawk Trans Am (I love the Firebird, but they just had too many different ones). I mean too much is just too many. Does anyone else agree?

i would like to see

camaro - v6 3.4 whatever
camaro RS - 5.3L, bone cheap still fun to shoot around town in and put some work into
camaro z28 - 6.0L LS2, more than likely 400-450 hp
camaro ss - 7.0L LS7, 500+ HP

but there is a small yet simple fact taht everyone seems to forget, ever since 1967 there has been an invisible line drawn between the camaro, and the vette. GM will never let the camaro be better or have more HP than the vette. they have always looked at the camaro as the menally challenged, red headed white trash step child that the parents tell to go play in his room when company comes over. the vette always has and always will be the golden child of GM, the crown jewel if you will. (this rule has only been broken on two occasions that i can recall the copo cars in 68 and 69, and the 4th gen zl1 and gmmg cars)

a 327 RS would be a good ecomony V-8 car. i see dodge putting a lot more effort in the Chanllenger then what they put in the Charger. example challenger r/t-340hp 5.7 hemi, t/a-390hp 5.7 hemi, srt-8-425hp-6.1 hemi. maybe it me but i think ford has something in dearborn bc i found it kinda odd that most powerful mustang ever bulit and being its a shelby that its not called the shelby GT500KR

just think how fun it would be to have a 5.3L and a 4/5/6 speed and noting else no xm radio, no power seats/windows, no dvd player, but they would have to make the engine put out over 300HP and make it a little more durable if they used the 5.3L truck motor. i think some of the guys in the truck forum said the motor can't take much more than 380-400HP.

You just described my 02 Z28 - No pw/pl/cruise/ttops/or any other wasted $$ or added weight. I absolutely loved it! Sad to see it go
