Default Best And Widest Tire For V's

What is the best street/performance tire for the stock 18" wheels. Also what is the widest tire/tires for a V that is lowered and one that is not. And what is the price range of these tires.

Check out Tiredeals4less.com, The toyo RA1's or R888's....Those will really help for some grip.

As far as sizes go, I believe the widest I've seen is 275s on the Stock rear's... I will let someone else answer that one......265/35's will work!!!

Search is your friend, but since you obviously don't have the search option.

I was running 245/35's up front and 295/30's out back BFG kdw nt's. No rub and rear poked maybe a 1/4 of a inch if that.

I did not run wider tires on my 18's, but can tell you that a 295/30/19 rubs a little and becomes a nuisance with rear passengers, even without lowering. Also, Toyos R888 are great for traction, treadwear is only 100, so you need to buy a tire store or use your V only on weekends. Nitto NT 555 Extreme has 300 treadwear and good ratings for temp, traction and speed---not sure if better than Nitto Invos, as doubt anyone has owned both. Invos have 260 treadwear rating and same temp, traction and speed. The 275/35/18 size is available on all three. Someone will mention PS2s for overall performance, good tire, very pricey, but worth it if money is not an issue. Check out the regular sites:

www.tirerack.com----they do not sell Nittos
www.tiredeals4less---they sell Toyos
www.tires.com---aka Discount Tire, no shipping charges, carry all Nittos
www.onlinetires.com---some tires here are the cheapest anywhere

Good luck,,,

I will be running 235/35r19 (only size that would work) and 295/30r19 Toyo R888s. Hopefully they should be on my car in a day or two and I can pick it up on Friday. I have been running Toyo T1-Rs for about 3 years now and have really liked them, but I wanted to go crazy with the R-compounds and see how they work. I have run a 285 in the rear with pretty low ride height (and rolled fenders) and only had rubbing problems if I had an adult in the back seat, which is almost never and even then the rubbing was not very bad. I would say that you could run 255s in front and 285s-295s in rear safely with a lowered car with the fenders rolled.

I am really happy with the Goodyear GSD-3's...then run really wide for 275's. They are more like a 285.

I like my NT05s, 275/40/18s... They do rub a little bit from time to time but nothing unbearable, and not cutting into anything.

So I should be able to stuff some 275's on the back without having to widen the wheel and shouldn't have to worry about rubbing to bad? At least not enough to ruin the tire. I'm stock ride height, and not planning on going lower.

I havent noticed any cuts or anything on my tires. They only rub slightly during 'spirited' driving or when you are very low speed turning and the suspension is articulating (up driveways or something). Theres one section of road I travel frequently thats a downhill sweeping curve that has a dip in it, and that will get it every time if I'm going >70.
