Default New V owner here.

I've been in the fbody crowd for many years now and have been without one for a couple years and got sick of driving for everyone else at the track. The local GM dealership found this for me in California and had it shipped to Louisiana for me. I picked it up today They are replacing a few things on it including the brakes and belt tensioners and whatever else they come across that needs replacing. I take it back tomorrow when the parts come in.

Its an 05 with 40k miles on it. This thing has definitely lived up to the hype. My only complaint is the stock shifter.

I only had my cell phone so the pics kinda suck. It does the interior ZERO justice. The car hasn't been detailed yet either...they will do that after they wrap up the work on the car.

your gonna grow to love it even more after you see all the bells and whistles and get used to the tranny/clutch. I still find new things all the time that i didnt know it did, like if you leave the turn signal on by accident a message pops up on the nav screen and witht he headlights on and you hit the windshield washer fluid these robotic arms pop out and hit the headlights lol. worthless but cool looking. have fun with the car.

Stealth Gray is the best color for the V in my opinion (biased a bit
Mine is an 05 as well, but I have the lighter interior and LOVE the car. I've not driven it for a few weeks as I just picked up a 2010 Camaro, but I just thought today about how much I miss driving the V. I flew into Texas two years ago to get mine and drove it home. It already had the short throw shifter (Definite must do) and a Corsa exhaust. I put a tune into it and have done nothing else and enjoy it thoroughly. You will really enjoy it. They look really good parked next to a 2010 Cyber Gray Camaro, so you need one of those too.....

Enjoy the car! Don't get caught by the mod bug, parts for this car aren't cheap...

My last LS powered car was a '00 Z28 w/ bolt-ons which I sold several years ago and my V is miles upon miles better!

Great choice, good luck, start modding!!!
Stay away from these mods:

1) 20" rims
2) Faux 1/4 vents
3) CAIs, save your $$$ for a tune

3) CAIs, save your $$$ for a tune
I gained a little power when I went from stock -> stock airbox mod with K&N gained me 2 rwhp and .7-1.0 torque -> then I went to a FFV style which got me another 1hp/1tq -> then I went to the K&N kit and I got an additional 3/2

So that being said for 350 bucks is 5 rwhp/4 rwtq worth it? Probably not...but it all adds up in the end. But yes spending 350 on a tune will get you more power. but if you have the money get the intake and a tune...

Okay, I am sold on the CAI, get the Volant version, as it has a lid, and comes in handy when you need to put your beer down while working on the V.

Thanks guys! Current rims are staying..only money I ever spend on a car is for ride/hp. First things will be shifter and bmr crap for the rear end. I want to try and break the 400rwhp mark with headers/no cats/exhaust and dyno tune. I know some have come close but the guys at Futral think its possible. They are 5-10 minutes away from me.

I've had 4 fbodys over the years (a turd gen and 3 4th gens) and I think I'm going to like this car a lot more than I did those

I will say for sure No on breaking 400rwhp with the same mods that I have...but good luck. I think youll need at least pulleys, a throttle body, injectors, ec waterpump....just about every bolt on mod you could possible do to get anywhere close.

I mean I have been to a dyno shop that told me I put down 407/403 or something like that...but I nearly started laughing when they handed me the dyno sheet, as I know its impossible.

You can go to some tuners and tell them what your goal is and they can tweak the dyno enough to give you exactly what you want just so your happy. I always say don't focus on the dyno numbers because they are trivial, just focus on the track numbers as they are what really matter.

Great car. I wasn't looking for this color when i bought mine, but after usually being the only stealth green V out of all my buddies, I think it is the best color.

Definitely do the shifter. UUC is great.

BTW...if you need a front bumper with a license plate holder, I'll trade ya

Same here. I had actually set out for a black one, but the only black ones the dealer could get their hands on were 06+ and either out of my price range or high mileage. I really like this color though.

I could have gotten a better deal buying privately, but I would not have been able to get rid of my truck (as I have tried on and off for a couple years now). I did not go there with the intention of buying, but when they gave me WAY over trade in value on the truck and promised to fix any and every little thing they or I come across, I couldn't turn it down.
