Default 1st Trip to the Strip

Took the V tonight for a few runs, all that is done is CAI and muffler delete.

Was hoping for high 11's lol jk. 13s was what i wanted but it was a little warm and my first time launching the car.

Managed a best of 14.1 at 102. MPH wasnt there but my first run was 14.5 at 105.6......Thought I would do better but the car is harder to launch then I had hoped but seat time will help with that. 13s will def be attainable after some seat time and lower then 85 degree temps with humidity through the roof.

Does the comp mode or t/c have anything to do wwith the cars performance? i ran it in both and didnt see much difference.

2.54 on the 105.6 run and 2.33 on the 102 run. not launching to hard just feathered the clutch but kept bogging down.

I've never tracked mine, but I know your 60's will get better with some seat time. If you're bogging down I would definitely defeat the traction control but if you are spinning too much t/c might help you. Ultimately you will get the best times with the t/c off with enough practice.

practice practice practice. My fbodies saw the track almost once a week when I had them. My V won't see that kind of track time, but the more you do it, the better you will get.

You need a driver mod.

j/k the car isn't the easiest to launch for sure. But you can knock a 1/2 sec off with more practice. You on stock rubber?

I wonder if the times would be better launching with like a 2k or 3k clutch dump? Before you flog about the diff.....I'm talking about someone trying it with the Hendrix axles.

Would the higher rpm's out the gate help? Or would there be too much tire spin?

In his case more rpm would help. It's a balance between bog and spin.

I havent run my car yet, but with my other cars I tend to launch manuals on stock tires around 3-4k and control how much goes to the ground with the clutch...its kind of a gauranteed way to not bog and you can control the spin at the same time.

no worries al, youll get er there nextime!!! These cars are some of the hardest to drive imo, especially the first time at the strip im sure lol. As for the t/c, and comp mode, ive heard different things from different people. Some people swear that your faster with t/c on some swear the opposite. COmp mode shouldnt make a big difference for I think it just allows your stabilitrac to loosen up a bitt n lett you get a little more squirrlley with the tires.

yea i dunno, with those axles in the car you should easilly pull of a mid to low 13. these are heavy cars, with weak differentials, so with stock axles its a real challenge to get a good launch.

Nice man. Almost took my V to the same track up in Cecil last Friday night.

Funny: I was searching "cts-v muffler delete" on Youtube, and your video came up. I could tell by the video alone which track it was.

lol, im on f1 gsd-3's. not much spin and i was feathering the clutch from like 2500. practice makes perfect and thanks to the extended warranty there will be plenty more practice lol. i will just keep trying, im not discouraged just need to work on the launch. I dont see a stock V(basically stock) breaking past 2.0 60', just too much car if you ask me.

...on the 2.5 60' run, a 2.0 would knock a full second off your run. The general rule of thumb for cars in this power range is .1 off the 60' = .2 in the big end

Im still debating on weather I want to bring my V to the track, i drive my car hard, but the track really would beat the hell out of it !

Kinda worried about the rear end to be honest, cause for a good 60ft you either have to find the sweet spot in slipping the clutch or dump it around 3-4 k

Keep practicing

im not worried about the diff really besides being stranded there if i have to work(work midnights so weds go in at 1030pm). the dealer replaced the last one for being noisy so i will push it a little more next time.

maxspeed, you shouldnt have a problem since you have the custom kars kit too.
