Default Rear 02 sensors won't turn off......help

My tuner has done great job with tuning my V with headers and CAI. I'm really happy with the way the car is running. The problem is he's not an LS guy, but rather a german car specialist and a few Cobras. We can't get the MIL light to go off for the rear 02 sensors. Since the free flow cats were mounted, the ECU thinks there is an efficiency problem. Everyone with headers and free flow cats gets this code. We've turned off the lines that analyse the rear 02 sensor readings and the lines that set the MIL light (4 all together). We thought we really had it this time. A day later that bitch came back yet again. This is about the third time we've been F!in with this thing. I've scanned it and erased it, hoping by some act of God it will not come back. I can't renew my plates pending an emmission test. Any LS tuner guys that can think what we're missing to get these rear 02 sensors off and no MIL light?

For an LS6 uncheck SES enable and set all of them to No Error Reported:

* P0054
* P0060
* P0137
* P0138
* P0140
* P0141
* P0157
* P0158
* P0160
* P0161
* P0420
* P0430
* P2A01
* P2A04

That will keep your CEL off and you will pass OBD2 emissions.

Did you get it fixed?

I just got the P2A01 code again. The CTS-V was tuned last weekend.

Ok, I dont understand this...
'Im good at cobras' but not at GM (roll the eyes)... its all applicable... thats like saying, Oh the cobra has a throttle, Oh my, GM, gee what are ETC throttles?, im lost now...

in the tune, as Skull Mentioned, there is a CHECK BOX if you want the SES (Service engine Soon) light to come on or not... Not rocket science... under diagnostics >> DTC's and change to trigger 3- No error reported, so it never cares what the rear o2s are doing, or unplugged...

Clearing the light with a scanner is useless if the problem is still there, which it is, you need to tell the ECM, hey, quit looking at this.

How do these guys get paid? like man... simple simple...::

@Stone - If you find someone locally that will do it on the cheap let me know. I'll be looking myself.

Call up Advanced Racing Dynamics and talk to J.
He said they can turn the code off but I just got my car tuned there.
The rate on the Dyno tune was $450 but they may turn the code off for cheaper.

Very Strange as I had mine done over a year ago at Gforce in Pearland. No issues ever.

I installed headers that is and got the P2 codes. Back to Magic Mike I go.

Thanks for the help guys!!!!

Do this. He probably missed some of those codes. If he's not familiar with HP tuners then it easy to forget to turn off ALL the rear o2 sensor codes. I had the same battle when I first got HP tuners.

Yeah, I talked to him and he said he must have missed those codes.

I was the first vehicle for him to tune with his new OS and Hardware and he was struggling a bit with the files. The tuning was great.

No worries as they were great to work with and very approachable and customer service oriented.

That's what counts the most IMO. I wouldn't switch tuners just because he's new to that software. Interfaces are different between software to software and automotive manufacturer to automotive manufacturer. But the basic tuning principles are still the same.

I know.

He was not new to the software; he GOT new software, but he knew it backwards and forwards. It was the Windows OS he was having issues with. Sorry for not being clear.

Great guy!

Probably going to take it back and see if the headers, plugs, wires and motor mounts helped it pick up any power....
