Diff gone on my 06 V.
I blew out my diff the other day but the Dealer is covering it under warranty no questions asked. wheew
So now that I will have a brand new diff I want to get the best wheel hop fix. What is your personal experience? Gforce axles? BMR kit?? I would like to make this diff last. Thanks for your input.

Not only do you have a brand new diff, it is stronger than your last one as well If it is under warranty, I'd try not to do too much back there because if it happens again (not likely now) they might give you a hard time about it.

How bad are the difs on the 06-07 if they are stock? Do they just not like slicks or what? Friend is looking at 06-07 V's currently. Sorry for the hi jack but OP how did you break it?

If Crowned Customs actually split the case of a 06-07 differential this would be the FIRST 06+ diff explosion I have ever seen. Not calling anyone out, in fact If you really split a 06+ case thumbs up on not being a chicken and actually driving the car

What broke on the diff, and do you have pictures? IMHO the 06+ diffs are pretty strong as in the case does not grenade like the 04-05 diffs. The 06+ diff gears are known to whine, but they will whine for thousands of miles without ever catastrophically failing. The howling gears is the only I'm considering replacing mine with the 9", mine have been howling for the past 15k miles and never given me any other issues.

Looks like you just broke a CV joint. Happened to me as well on the drivers side inner. That is CV grease slung around. I'd almost bet that there is nothing wrong with the diff as long as the axle didn't smack the case and break it.

If you did break your diff you are the first on the forums with a 06-07 to do so. All the grenading has been done by 04-05. There have been several 04-05 Vs that have the later gen diffs that blow, but no blown diffs on 06-07 LS2 Vs.
With all that CV grease I would agree with raven. Looks like you popped a CV which is fairly common with our V1s.
Either way, it still sucks and I hope warranty covered it.

Hell yeah! Good job breaking the CV joint. I have twisted off the splines inside the diff before.
I have the GForce econo axles and they remove 100% of the wheelhop up to about 5500 rpms. I think the main difference between the Hendrix/DSS and the GForce axles are that the GForce ones have the larger diameter on the longer shaft. I think I read that the Hendrix/DSS axles are now coming with some sort of coating now also. There is some talk about the Hendrix/DSS ones not being 300M material, but I cannot confirm that so take it for what it's worth (not much).
I have purchased axles from both places (Hendrix and GForce) and from personal experience I prefer dealing with Chris. There didn't seem to be any 'shady' excuses as to when the product was going to ship. Also, all the parts that were supplied with the GForce axles fit properly.
