hey guys, today when i went to lunch i treid unlocking the car with the remote but the driver side would not unlock. its happend before, and it seems to only happen when the sun is hitting that side...weird right

i then tried to use my key and it wouldnt let me unlock it either. i had to get inside from the passenger side. once inside the car i still could not unlock it. i pull the lock up and the plastic thingy came off. so i head over to my dads and get some plyers and then pulled the lock up. i was then able to open and close the door. i got back to work and it locked fine but it wouldnt unlock. lets see what happens when i leave, since it cooled down and the sun will be gone when im off.

anybody ever have this issue?

By the way I have the same issue with my right rear passenger door but I can lock and unlock it by hand...

Mine still unlocks, but I have to press the remote 2-3 times when it's cold....florida cold btw so, ~50* anything else and it works fine....the few times it dropped below freezing overnight I had a hell of a time unlocking the door the key didn't even wanna budge it...eventually got it though...I'm thinking some white lithium grease on all the control rods.

ahh, warranty is out...fml! lol....well when i left work it worked just fine..its weird cuz its only happend here at work...and where i park the car, the sun is right on the driver door...very strange. and its only when its hot....hmmm

it's a small little plastic pice that holds the rods to the latches and what not. It has happened on my other cars. the piece slides into a hold and then latches around on a rod that then goes to what ever latch/lock, etc. I'd bet you 10 bucks that is what it is. Pull off your insinde panel, and look and follow all the door parts and I bet you will see it.

ah, thanks man. i will get on that this weekend. so what am i suppose to do when i find that piece? i dont think i understood right.

Grease the hell out of it, or if it looks bad get a new one.

heres the docs from the service manual to remove the door panel and what not, all I could find...no tsbs for locks not functioning.
