Default Rear Tire Problem

I got my CTS-V back in 05-2010 and the tire where new.
Now the rear tire are eating up the inner side of the tread.
After driving the CTS-V the car smell like burning rubber and the inner side of the tire is HOT.

Any help?
Can a alignment fix it?

Toe rods ?? Yup, get an alignment plus thrust angle. Not cheap but one tire is more expensive.

Both tires are like that.

Ditch the current tire brand... mine wore like that too - RE050's don't wear that way. No other suspension changes were made.

The tires of the CTS-V is Goodyear Eagle RS-A EMT.

The only things I did to the rear was BMR Trailing Arms and BMR Anti-Wheel Hop Kit. Everything else is stock.

That's exactly how my stock tires (RS-A EMT) wore. An alignment wouldn't hurt either.

GM's tire choice is rubbish... that's what I'm telling you. The dealer gave me crap on warranty work because of the abnormal wear on the original tires.

All of the stockers wore funny. That's why no-one is running runflats anymore.

If my old ones wore funny, and i was spending the money for new tires, i would make sure to get it aligned to be safe...

My stockers wore fine (well with the exception of the one front tire where the camber was way off...)

Alignment is coming for my car next week and then new rear tires.

The front tire looks perfect. Weird

Weird. It's almost like the front end alignment is independent of the rear end alignment.

I would be willing to bet that your rear toe numbers are way off, which is what is causing the tires to scrub the inner shoulders like that.

Before you go get an alignment, I encourage you to print out the alignment specs from the CTS-V FAQ and bring those with you. If you just go to a shop and say, "I want an alignment," they'll do the minimum work necessary to get the car "in the green" on their computer screen, which could still leave you with a crappy alignment. If you give them actual numbers to align to you'll get a better result. Make sure the printout they give you when they're done actually matches what you asked for.
