Default Sell V1 for C6 Z06?

With the prices of 0607 Z06's coming down, I have been getting the itch to sell my V. I have never been a huge fan of corvettes, but the Z is damn near impossible to beat performance wise for the money. I originally bought the V to have a nice comfortable car with decent power and four seats. In reality, I never take four people in my car, as I have a crew cab tundra that I drive daily.

My question is what is the comfort level of a Z compared to a V? Is it something that a 5hr drive to Vegas is reasonable, or is it too cramped and uncomfortable? I am 6'2" 200lbs.

My other questions is what do you think I could get for my V in this Market? Mods are below....

2004 V
75k miles
Ground Control Coilovers
Powder Coated Wheels
New tires < 5k miles
Custom Cam 222/226/597/598 115+3
Tuned by Cunningham Motorsports
K&N Intake
New water pump
High Flow cats
Muffler delete
diff replaced in 09
Integrated Ipod
Image Dynamics 12" Sub
Sun Roof

You and I have very similar mods. My 07 is listed for $25.5k.

Better how? I know my personal thoughts, but I'm curious what others think, based on experience.

If I have the budget for 2 cars the z06 would be one of them....

the V1/V2 would be the other...

I can't really justify keeping the V and getting a Z when I have the Tundra as the daily driver. The Z is definitely more money, but I don't want to sacrifice the comfort and luxury of the V too much for the additional power.

The z06 seems surprisingly docile stock, espescially given how wickedly fast it is stock. I haven't owned one, though, but am considering them too.

Because you don't DD the V I would say get the Z06 if you have the cash. I DD my V at least until winter, I might pick up a cheap beater, but I wouldn't want to DD a Z06. My step dad got a 08 black C6 Z06 a couple months ago and that car is amazing. It def. has the power, but the handling is what sets that car apart from others. Our V1's are a great combo of power and comfort, but a Z06 is just a straight badass rocket ship.

As far as price on yours, I about my 2004 V with only 24k miles for under $22,000 earlier this summer and it is basically stock expect for K&N CAI, Magnaflow Axle Back, B&M short throw, and tinted windows.

Those z's are cramped. Wouldn't catch me driving one 5 hrs comfortably that's for sure. I am 6'4 275 though. A regular c5 I was sore after the test drive

Well you could sell the V, buy a Z and then trade me the Tundra for my V and start all over on the modding.

a V isnt that big for a tall driver.... im really hurting for head room in my V, while a zo6 i have more head room due to you sitting on the floor basically.

My problem with the vettes is definetly not head room in a vette, its the shoulder room, there is no side to side room at all.

My buddy has a C6 Z and I drive it often. Obviously these are very different cars. I wouldn't want a Z06 for a daily driver, the V wins hands down in this category. Aside from that the Z06 is a straight up race car. The stance, width, weight, 427ci, & handling is just awesome. One of the fastest stock cars I have ever been in.

It's joy to drive, pretty comfortable but stiffer than a V. I think it's as easy as the V to drive.

Good luck...The Z06 is the best bang for the buck. Used ones can be had in the low 40's which is a steal. You will not be disappointed.

If you've never driven one yet, I think you will be blown away.

Go test drive a C6 Z and report back to us with your findings. I think once you drive it you won't look back.

My weekend plans were detoured, so I wasn't able to do the test drive. I am hoping to do so next weekend. I am really trying to stay under the 40k mark, and prices are hovering just above that right now. Based on what others have said, once I drive it, that couple of thousand probably will be overlooked =)
