Default CD Player issue

So this morning my CD player was full and I wanted to put another one in. So I ejected #6 and pulled it out. Well now my CD player is stuck on #6 (with no CD in it) and I can't skip to the next CD. No other buttons for the CD player work!!

Everything else on the DIC works, except that. I've went through every other option (radio, info, nav, etc) Even turning the car on and off didn't help. Would unhooking the battery reset it?

Has anyone ever went through this? How did you fix it?? Thanks!

Mine did the same thing. It just beeps when you try to eject a CD. I tried a bunch of things, short of taking it out. The SQ of XM radio drove me nuts, so I bought the PA15 iPod adapter and havent cared about it since....still doesnt work.

If I was to change the DVD player out to an aftermarket unit would it affect anything other than the little messages that pop up on the screen?

Nope. You just give up some of the messages like stability control engagement and engine oil life, etc

Mine actually ended up working after I got out of work....thank goodness.

I posted same questions on the other forum, and a guy on said this....

Press the Seek Right button and the second from bottom on the right hand selector buttons simultaneously and select cold restart. If it doesn't work the first time it should the second.

Isn't that the same thing you do to watch a DVD? <- I haven't done it in forever, so I can't remember off the top of my head.

Yes, it's the same thing. You're just resetting the DIC. You'll lose some info like the startup message but nothing important.

Tried this about 10 times and it never worked for me.. oh well. Kinda wanted to go aftermarket anyway to get rid of those hideous buttons

No matter how quick i push the eject button on mine(without holding it), it spits out all 6 disc!
It has always played fine after reinstalling though.

Try cleaning it with one of those disc cleaner kits. (CD had tiny brushes on it)

Yes, mine does that too. I push eject once, and all 6 start popping out. Fn annoying! I just push load again, and the CD goes back in.
