just letting you know we changed the shafts to have a CV on both ends so the trans end now has a longer spline to clear all aftermarket shifters

On your website, you reference "billet plates for each end" on the carbon fiber driveshaft specs page.

http://www.driveshaftshop.com/domest...ber-driveshaft

If I were to buy a CF one piece stock replacement shaft and swap in an 8.8 at a later date, could we machine thicker "billet plates" to makeup the added length needed for the stock replacement driveshaft to mate up with the 8.8 diff?

Thanks!

If I ordered mine last month and it just shipped. Will I be receiving the new style?

I'm going to blow so much money next year when it's tax return time...they look great and thanks for bringing out products for the V market, it's very frustrating trying to get stuff for this car sometimes.

OK, the stock shaft would be 62 face to face, this uses a 1.5" plate in the front and a .800 thick plate in the rear (CV's both ends) the Creative 8.8 kit is 63-1/16 face to face or 1-1/16 different. so what we can do is this. with out the rear plate the shaft would be 61.200 long. so the rear plate would have to be 1.8625 long to bolt up to the Ford Diff, as it is we make one for the 6Cly Mustang's that has the same patterns we would need on both end. but its only 1.5" thick . all we would have to do is make the plate thicker. yes this would be able to be done easy. the plate would run about 150.00

so if you want to buy a shaft now and then change to the 8.8 later this is all that would be needed to make the change.

I appreciate your quick reply!

Is there any down side to doing this??? Would it change critical speed or overly affect driveshaft angle?

And what is the lead time for carbon fiber 1 piece CTS-V driveshaft.

Thanks again for your professionalism!

Were running about 14-18 days right now (Race season started) the shaft would have a higher critical as the tube is shorter. it *** about 400rpm to each inch.

Sounds like a win/win....I'll be in touch when my stock unit starts giving up.

Thanks for your time.

Default Aluminum 1 piece Dual CV to 9" shaft

Frank,

Mine seems to be doing ok. Definitely eliminated my vibration at highway speeds, will need to play with clocking to smooth it out above 100. It is currently washed, waxed and covered until much later this year. Forged LS7 build ongoing and I am not at home temporarily.

How many more like mine have you sold, if you remember mine was the first one dual CVs aluminum to a 9" G-Force Kit.

I will be in touch.

p.s. MPH is an abbreviation for Miles Per Hour (for those wondering)
Being that you already produce a 2 piece shaft for 8.8 conversions have you considered a 2 piece option for stock drivetrains?

we actually made some and they worked nice, the problem is the cost is close to a carbon one.

we did it with a CV in the center

What was the critical speed of the two piece shaft?
Is it also all aluminum?
What kind of weight savings did it have over the stock piece?

I think these questions would make some want the two piece over the carbon 1 piece.
It's important to some to maintain the capabilities of the car.

The 2 piece would have a 12000rpm critical (faster then the car can go) the carbon is also close to this. yes it is all aluminum but still has some weight. i think there about 23lbs like this. (Carbon is about 18lbs)

OK, I looked over your original post and didn't see a CS for the carbon shaft.

Thanks
