Hmmm . . . BMW guy looking at a V1
After driving several cars over the last few months, I'm liking the V.
I'm more of a BMW guy (as you can tell from my sig). I originally was thinking 2005/6 GTO (since I had an 04) and BMW M5 but I decided to give the V a try and it talks a language I can understand. I knew what the power/tq delivery was like, but the chassis appears to be pretty damn nice.
The tires on the one I test drove wasn't up to par and the Nivomats suck, but the interior is nicely appointed and optioned, seat are kinda meh, but ok.
So now that I have the fever for a black/black V1 . . . can someone point me in the direction of a mostly stock 2005 for around $17K w/ less than 100K

In reply to wcryan:
No sir . . . different ride altogether. Racer's car is the shizz, but it's more than what I had budgeted.
There are deals to be had with some patience. There were a few Redline/Infrared cars here in SC going for $15-17K, but I was looking for Raven specifically. There's a Raven in VA for $16.5 with ~80K and a list of warranty repairs done (yes I checked them all, that's what you supposed to do, right?), but those guys never called me back LOL!!

??? I would say he was realistic? Wanted a car for $17k- with -100k miles. That's reasonable. However, 67k miles for $21k is top dollar. I see most people (myself included) buying from dealers and getting better deals with warranty's. I paid less for mine with 48k miles, warranty, lifetime key and fob replacement, gap insurance, etc... So like the OP said, It's all about finding the deal of the day.

when I was looking for a V they were all $22+ and I snatched mine up when it was for sale for a little cheaper, because it was local. Since then it seems the cars have dropped 5-7k in price which is amazing...I just got mine like 6 months ago lol
Hence the "prices I've never seen" comment. this is new to me!

I bought mine almost three years ago and had the chance to buy an 05 with 60k miles for $18k. It was a friend but I needed to trade in my truck so I spent $24k at a dealer for one with 40k miles..lol.

I bought a 2005 Stealth Gray with 137k miles on it for 13k. Sold it to my buddy for about 11k and 154,000 miles with my mods (obx headers, fast 92 intake manifold, 90mm tb, UUC motor mounts, clutch, upgraded diff, our stealth cam and supporting valve train). The only things wrong with it were shifter was sloppy and the obx header banged, but we fixed the header before we transferred the title. It had normal wear and tear, but the paint was pretty good, couple dings and blemishes, but still looks very nice.
I bought another 2005 Red with 74k on it for 19.6k and it looked mint at the dealership. Only to find that my 154k seemed to have been in better shape. I like the red more, but after I bought it realized the rims were powder coated poorly (causing them to go far out of balance), then the outsides sprayed to look stock, the front grill was sprayed the same color as the rims, a rattle in the a-pillar, and on-star failure where it says "phone not available" every time I start the car, a dead battery and slipping clutch.
All in all, I should have kept the first one and just rebuilt the engine if it were to go...
