Default Rubber Spacer Question - H&R Springs MM Spacers

I have H&R Springs with Mighty Mouse Spacers and the rear is way too low, reversed rake!

I want to do Edmund's mod in this thread: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...owering-3.html

My question is does anybody know what hardness to buy? 50A, 60A or 70A? Also is 3/8" a good thickness? here is the link: http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/3528/=i7eg6g

Thanks for any feedback!

3/8ths thick rubber ends up raising the fender by just a bit under a half inch, because of the suspension arm angles. 60A should be just fine. Good luck; hope it works for you.

Shouldn't need a shorter spacer. MM kit is fine. The rubber spacer in the rear should do all the leveling u need.

I had to roll my fenders too, try and rent a fender roller if you don't have one makes the job way easier and more uniform. My rear end tires are sitting a good 3/4 of an inch or more up into the fenders, way too low!

I'll post a before and after picture this weekend, you'll see what I mean by to low in the back. The front I like, looks clean. I scrape everywhere I go, although it doesn't help that Seattle roads are jacked!!

Yes! Please post pics! I'd like to see what to expect. My car comes out of the shop early next week from getting the new bumper cover and cowl hood both painted and installed. Just ordered the brakemotive kit so ill be doing the drop and brakes all at once when it comes out along with either installing the complete magnaflow catback or just having the Corsa mufflers i have sittin in the garage installed in the stock piping since i already have the x-pipe and no mufflers.

Ready to get everything on it and be done. lol

In OC with two LITTLE people in the back seat i ended up cutting my tires on 275 35 19s. I am going to finish the ghetto roll we started after that. Then I just want to go back to a slight forward rake. Plus I want to stiffen teh rear a LITTLE. So smaller spacer in the MM spacer and then I am emailing HR to get the SAME or similar drop but with a STIFFER rear spring.

I want to go to smaller spacers NOT for leveling/ride height. More to have the rear shock stiffer. Little too much movement with the full sized spacers in.

I want this height or maybe a smidge higher(want to run 285s) but STIFFER.

I see what you're saying. Car looks great though!!!

So are the H&R's a little too soft? I plan to roll my fender lips regardless but i was going to have some stock wheels widened to 10" and run a 295/35/18 back there. Im sure this would require modified trailing arms but that should be it.

You saying the rear springs a little soft though makes me wonder if ill get too much sag when launching. I was going to sell the springs and run a GC kit but the kit doesnt seem to go as low as i'd like in the rear having only a 1" drop. The H&R height is what im looking for.

Why im asking them for a stiffer rate spring option.

But I am hoping putting smaller spacers in teh kit and a small rubber spacer under the spring will get me there slightly. Stiffer because of shock and a little more clearence with teh rubber spacer.

FYi with a 10" rim, you NEED to get trialing arms. Stock ones were basically touching the inside of the rim(NOT THE TIRE) static much less in motion. I am runnign the MAP arms and its still CLOSE.

I dont see 295s(on a 19 in particular) happening with H&Rs and even ROLLED fenders.

I hear ya. Sounds like what you're doing should work though.

How much do the MAP trailing arms run?

I made a thread awhile back asking about widening stock wheels and how wide we can go with them and 10" was said the be the limit (with aftermarket trailing arms of course).

A 295 may fit. I ran a 295/35 on stock wheels on my old car and they didnt fit bad. They bulged some but pretty close to the same look as a 275/40 on the stock wheel. Id prob be happy with the 275/40 on a 10" wheel since it will look much wider already as it is. Maybe a 285/40 but a 295/35 would be nice if it would work.

With the right set of springs the GC/KW kits can go any height you want as springs can be bought at different heights and stiffness. If you want lower than the perch can provide at min adjustment then buy a 1-2 inch shorter spring.

I dont know if the MAP arms are still for sale. I got mine used.

I know someone was mentioning the BMRs can be ordered or modded to work.

Well the KW kit is way different from my understanding due to the kit being complete with aftermarket shocks and more adjustments. Those are fully adjustable as it is and can go as low as u want them to. The K-sports are the same as far as height adjustment but they aren't as good of quality as the KW setups from what i've seen posted here on the forum.

As far as the GC kit, i was told there was a way to remove the perch for additional drop but im not sure if thats really the best way to get the drop you want. Seems like having the perch there would be a good idea. lol I believe it was ferny that had the GC kit slammed with the perches removed.

The shorter spring solution is a good idea and im assuming i'd only need a pair for the rear since the front will adjust as low as u want already. How much are springs alone? Anyone done this?

I wonder if GC will allow you to customize your order if you order the kit new by having an 8" spring for the rear instead of the 10" which is what i believe comes standard with the kit.

I have a buddy that had a new GC kit that is still in the box and hasnt been installed yet that hes thinking about selling me for $400. Believe its the 600/650 combo though with obviously the standard length springs.
