Default different shift *****

To those of you who have changed your shift ****, where did you get them? I've tried eBay & such but no luck. I am referring to the v2 & gt500 ***** mainly. Not a big fan of the weighted ***** that are around.

I'll prob go v2 if I change mine. Not a fan of the momo *****.

What's the cost on a v2 **** anyway? Leather. Suede looks like **** after awhile.

Check out GM parts direct. I pay about $100.

Wonder how much a gt500 **** runs? For the $100 the v2 **** runs, I'd be tempted to order one of those custom weighted ***** for a little more.

Got this on and i love it. I took off my $150 TWM piston shift **** for this and am surprisingly happy with it thus far.

My only issue is I have a katech short throw. Not sure if thread pattern would be the same and I assume that one u liked to on eBay is prob just a snap on **** like the stocker is right??

Katech has a weird thread size so there aren't many options. However, u wanna sell that $150 **** u took off??

I just ordered a Twm shift ****, assuming that with a drill press and a tap I can make it work on the katech short throw. I'll let you know how that goes later this week when it comes in.

The understanding I got from them was that they all used some wonderfull adapter system, that will make this process a pain in the ***. they have an option to order in a thread size of 9/16-18 which is 1/16 size difference from the katech shifter. I'll start a thread with some pics when the thing comes in, unless someone else already has picks and specs.

The delrin shift **** uses a tight fit and set screw. The twm comes threaded with a slide on threaded ring that has the set screws.

TWM ***** (LOVE mine) have a simple system. You place the threaded adapter wherever you want it on the stalk. I put mine as low as possible.

Then, you get out your drill, and you dimple the stalk for the set screws. If you don't do this, the **** will probably come off. At the most inopportune time. Like a hard 2-3 shift. Welcome to the ER.

The difference between a weighted **** and not is dramatic. You won't go back to a light **** on this car.

I am assuming you are running a standard V shifter and ordered the twm shifter made for the V, or did you order a specific thread for an aftermarket shifter?

I just really don't like the looks of the twm or delrin *****. I'm more of a traditional **** kinda person. Shaped somewhat similar to what we have but just looks better. I did find a few gt500 ***** on eBay & Amazon but don't care a whole lot for them. I think it will come down to either a v2 or an 03-04 cobra ****. I always loved how they looked.

The 03/04 cobra **** is threaded though and I doubt it's the same size thread as the katech shifter. Pretty sure my 03 cobra had a smaller thread pattern.

If there is enough meat there you drill and tap it to work..
