Default V2 problematic like the V1?

Im just wondering, how does the V2 Compare to the v1. Im not talking about the 556hp, better seats, etc. Im talking more along the lines of the reliability. V1's are known for their fragile diff, LS2 throttle body issue, since the V2 has been out for some time (since '09), what can the V2 owners say about the common problems with their V2. Can you actually drive the car to its full potential without worrying?

Heard heat is an issue.. they run hot from the supercharger specially in traffic.. also from what I read not sure if its true nor do I know how you drive your car but I've read the factory supercharger is more of an obstacle than a benefit.

I've owned a v1 and a v2. I can honestly say I'm completely satisfied with the v2. My diff blew on my old V and I had constant issues. The driveshaft whined, wheel hop, squeaks and rattles, peeling buttons...The list goes on. But it's night and day in comparison. Get a v2 if you're gonna do it.

Factory blower is a TVS1900. I would hardly call it an obstical. Obviously, the people buying them have a lot of money (or they are stupid) and some want them faster than the 700bhp or so these blowers are capable of. There are always upgrades no matter what you have. Just depends on how much you want to spend.

The trans is solid, the rear is solid manily because the majority of Vs are autos which is way less stressful on the rear. My only issue with the 09+ is in a few years how many electronics issues will they have simply because the car is LOADED with sensors and amenities. GM doesnt have the best record with electronics.

No experience, just lurking to maybe buy a V1 in the future. Every car has its issues, yet to own one that doesnt.

This is my main worry, mechanically the things are solid.

This is true but the V1 was the whipping boy of issues, they just put an ls6 and a t56 in there to distract us. You wake up every morning look at the V and say "challenge accepted".

Haha making me rethink this a bit, main one is just the rear and radio buttons peeling which was half of GM radios it seems. What else was there? Looking to buy one with a built rear or at least the latest gen GM rear.

I love my V1. But its for sale to get a V2. If i cant sell in. Guess ill be installing my nitrous kit and saving for a 8.8 swap. Still gets looks and stares everywhere I do. And capapble on embarassing a lot of cars. THe V2 is all that in more quantities.

After working on both cars for years, I would say the only issue I have seen with the 09+'s is clicking front wheels(solved with bulletin)...rear diff over temp if your traveling @ speeds over 145mph for extended periods of time.....a radio issue here or there....but, other then that....nothing consistent. I have replaced various parts on various V2's but again, nothing repetitive. All cars break,...being part of the players group, I have worked on maybachs, vipers, vettes, ferrari's, porsches,massaratti's,.etc... they all break.

Most all auto manufactures use the same electronics companies.../connectors/harnesses/ecms/etc/

second gen,..one of the best cars ever.

Like mentioned above, the most common complaints are clicking wheels, rocking recaros, and rattling supercharger isolator.
I can't wait to get one!

The V2 is an entirely different car. One of the baddest cars gm has ever put out! Period. But I love my v1 and it raw feeling. Just got my 8.8 in and plan to spray a 150 shot thru a forged ls6 and a Maggie at 12lbs. Should be pretty fun >:-)

Prices are getting a lot better! They can be had for between $35 to $43k with under 45k miles... i've even located some certified V2's within that range....

Once you get the V1 dialed in it truly is a wolf in sheeps clothing.
