Default Problems setting up Nick Williams TB

Nick Williams 102 TB and harness conversion seems to have some problems. I think we have trimmed the problem down to either harness conversion is bad or additional programming other than the recommended changes are necessary for the CTSV. I have an 04, that will not drive the actuator to change the throttle position. Do I need to modify the old harness other than the standard wire connection issues? The kit supposedly is realitively plug and play with some minor change to the computer program. Is there a pin out config to verify the harness addon that it is correct or have a short. Called Hinson Super Cars whom I got the setup from and they are trying to diagnose with our tuner, but I looking for your help if you have worked out a solution when you added to your CTSV.
Thanks
Marc

Confirmed that the TB is not at issue with plugging a standard LS7 actuator and same response, none.

I think the ls7 tb opens the opposite direction. So it's not a plug and play part for our cars. That's why they are cheaper than ls2 tbs on eBay.

try hitting the actuator with 12 volts and see if the blade opens up.

I put a LS2 tb on mine. I did my own wiring and did not make any programming changes yet. It will run and i drove it home from my shop. If the NW works on a vette it ought to work on yours. I will check my conversion chart and post orig colors to pin letter.

LS7 wiring isn't the same as LS2, so what I'm getting from his routinely disarrayed post is that it didn't work on his car, so he tried it on an LS7 vette, and it didn't work either, which doesn't tell us if it's the TB actuator, or his car.

To me if sounds like he pulled the NW 102 off his car and installed an LS7 on his car. The LS7 will not work on our cars. The LS2 throttle body will. If you can find an LS2 Vette or GTO, pull the throttle body and install on yours with your harness and that will tell where the problem lies. If the 102 is off and LS7, it won't work. Supposedly Wait4me was able to get them to work with a lot of changes to the PCM but that is unconfirmed.

My understanding is he's trying to put The Nick Williams TB on an LS6 without the necessary harness (agreed on the confusing *** posts). That throttle body is pinned for an LS2/LS3 not an LS6 (LS1). Sooo you would either need to pin it yourself like BowTie or buy this harness:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Caspers-Thro...2367ce&vxp=mtr

"Nick Williams 102mm LS3/L92/LS7/LSXR (Electronic) Throttle Body, Will work on modified LS1/LS2/LS6 engines also. This throttle body accepts the LS2/LS3 stock throttle body harness.

Fits:
2010-2011 Camaro
2008-2009 Pontiac, G8 GT/GXP, (Needs to have the Powersteering Pump relocated)
2005-2011 Corvette, C6/ZO6
2005-2007 CTS-V, (LS2 Only)
2005-2011 Trailblazer SS
2005-2006 Pontiac GTO, (LS2 Only) and (Needs to have the Powersteering Pump relocated)"

What happens when you install the OE LS6 78mm throttle body? Does it function? If you haven't tried it, hook it up electrically with KOEO and see if it actuates.

The LS3/7 will plug in and work, however they actuate in reverse of the LS2 and LS6 throttle butterfy's and the PCM really doesn't like that. It will force it into reduced engine power immediately.

This is supposedly what W4M was able to fix.

LS3/7 will plug into an LS6? They are different harnesses are they not? Or is the LS2 the only different harness? An LS2 is not plug and play with an LS6.

Ls2 isn't plug and play with ls6. Ls6 has 2 individual harnesses (one for the TPS etc, on the left, and one for the blade, on the right. 2 wires in the left harness remain unused), and the ls2 has one harness.

With the harness the LS2 is the only throttle body will work without and changes to the PCM. You should change things to maximize the use of the 90 but it will work without setting the reduced engine power.

and even with an LS2 you still need to change the area scaler in the PCM.

Hold the phone. LS7 TB will not work on the V? Damn it. Anyone know the part number difference between the ls7 and ls2 TB's?

Edit: It seems that pre 09 LS7 TB's should work? Anything later will not? Can anyone confirm this? Also the difference between a gold and silver throttle blade, gold being the no go?

I have an LS? something throttle body and cannot ID it except for the gold throttle blade. There is a part# on it and a QR code but I search them and nothing comes up.

Sorry to Jack your thread OP.

that's ls7 (i think). Here's a stock LS2 image I found:

there's a comparison image

IIRC, the new LS7 tb's have the gold plate, and the LS3 have silver.

The gold blade TB's won't work. If its an LS7, it needs to be the older style with the silver blade. These are most commonly refered to as LS2 throttle bodies and the gold ones are LS3/7 throttle bodies. I tried to replace my LS2 with a silver blade with an LS3 gold blade and it would not work.
