Default anyone that has a stock driveshaft coupler laying around come inside....

ok, so got the new coupler from CS today, and it doesn't fit, and these are the only ones that are made for the car.....so i have no idea what is on my car...if you have a coupler laying around, please look at it, and see if it has this part number on it.....GAP01-003

If it does I will buy this from you if its still in one piece.

Thanks for checking....

You mean a stock GM coupler? I've got a new Revshift coupler that I'm trying to install today or tomorrow. If I can get it installed correctly, I may have one for you.

Yes, as long as it has this part number GAP01-003 on the coupler, I will take it off your hands.

I have a stock coupler laying around. I will verify the part number in a few hours.

Edit: number matches!

Thank you Heavymetals, hopefully this works out, and I can get this thing back on the road.

What is preventing the CS unit from fitting?

Getting there. On the list today:

- Oil change
- Rewrap headers, ARP bolts, new gaskets
- Creative Steel motor mounts (87A)
- Clean brakes and rebleed with new master cylinder
- Clutch pedal spring

Hope to do the shifter mods and McLeod RXT tonight/tomorrow (aluminum flywheel, new pilot bearing, and ARP hardware). Next week: rear subframe and control arm bushings.

The bolts holes dont line up, they are close but they dont line up....I originally ordered the cs one that said it fit the cts-v's but it didn't fit, we called them up and talked to them, and we got out a micrometer, and checked everything, and let him know our readings, and he said its the dimensions of a different one for an automatic cts, so I got that one, and it is a closer fit, but it doesn't fit....we are completely out of ideas, so this was the only other thing we could think of to make it work.

this is just a limited thing, until I could get the money together for the 8.8....I should be able to in the next few months, but dont want the car down the entire time, while I wait on that....

GAH!! so the driveshaft coupler came in from HeavyMetals, and it fits perfect, no problems what so ever, so we put it in, and were just rotating the driveshaft, to make sure everything is ok, and what do we see.......a tear in the stupid carrier bearing on the replacement driveshaft. This was supposed to be a stopgap, until i could pull off the 8.8......I've got 4 driveshaft couplers I've got to return, and now a driveshaft that I have to return, and car is still not ready to go....at this point, i'm trying to figure out what I can do to get this 8.8 kit going now.
