Default Maximizer Headers? a new stainless option?

Just saw these browsing eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Maximizer-Header-04-05-06-Cadillac-CTS-V-LS6-2-/171056398846?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d3c181fe&vxp=mtr
Looks like there might be another cheap stainless header option out there. It will be interesting to see how the quality of these compares to others.

^ Yup...but you can buy three sets for what I bought my Kooks for a few years ago. They look like they're coated already.

These headers fit great. Little tight around the steering shaft but its a header and to be expected.
They are not coated, they are polished 409 stainless steel.

Well I just ordered pacesetters due to the fact that OBX had really shitty customer service when I had my lt1. If the car goes big power in the future probably just get kooks at that point.

There is no reason to buy Kooks. Why spend double for the same part?

I've got 2 brand new pairs of Kooks for $1200.

1 7/8ths are coated. 1 3/4 is not (I don't think).

I'll give you $500 for the coated pair. Great price; just don't need two pair.

Only spent 400 on my pacesetters and are really good in my book. I can't see 1200 for kooks all you are buying is a name lol.

Not to get into this discussion again, but one company spends engineering time developing, the other 'copies'... Ill let you decide which is which. So its not just the name. (however, Kooks prices should have come down by some now, error on their end). This is in no means a reason to by kooks, but to fail the 'all you are buying is the name' statement.

For the OP - appears to be re-branded off of OBX.

The OBX have fitment problems. If you are doing your own install and spending your own time, that's cool. If you're paying someone else, the time spent tweaking, bending, etc. will add up. Kooks have better QC.

Agreed on the Kooks Headers. It is just not a name if you have seen them in person. Are they worth that much NO. I think more reasonaby would be around the $750 range, but that is just me. With that said, these are small batch headers that they keep low production; Hell, they will NEVER make more than 10,000 pr of V1 CTSV Headers. Period.

And NONE of us know what they put into each header.

If money was no option, then Kooks all the way.

Just installed a set of these over the weekend. They fit great and the quality overall is great. They were tight around the steering shaft only due to the header wrap. The entire job took me 7 hours. I did the whole thing myself, and had to make some modifictations to my Magnaflow catback to get everything to line up. The stock cat back is shaped different, and might not require as much work. So far, I would recommend them as a cheaper alternative to kooks and better material compared to pacesetters.

What modifications to the Magnaflow were needed? Any pics of the connection to the exhaust pipes?
