Revshift upper control arm bushings driving me nuts
I installed the 95a upper control arm bushings a few months back. I used the grease that came with the bushings. Within two months, I have had the control arms out twice to relube them because they squeak. Then its perfect for about a month. Also I have my knuckles pulled to install my 8.8 and I tried moving the arms. I couldn't budge them no matter how hard I tried. Is that normal, and is anyone else having this annoying squeak?

No, it is not normal to not be able to move the control arms.
Can't help on the bushings and squeaking, as I have the GMPP arms (rubber bushings) and thus haven't had to deal with that problem.

Alright. I will try to get a hold of them tomorrow. I'm now thinking that is the cause of my ride quality after I replaced all my bushings. I blamed it on the cradle bushings, but now I'm thinking its these. It rides like its on the bump stops. And that's before and after lowering it.

I'm definitely having squeaking problems right now, but it's been a couple of months. I'm hoping that this problem doesn't continuously reappear. I talked to Revshift and they said that "all you can do is re-lube them."

I'm new to this forum and car, but PU control arm bushings are notorious for noise in all sorts of cars, including the last two I modified. I avoid using them in moving parts like that, with the exception of sway bar brackets because you can usually get zerk fittings, or bushings with pockets to hold reserve grease.

Supposedly, 2-4-C Marine lubricant with Teflon works better than Energy Formula 5. I'm going to try it, although it may take me months to know whether it works better or not.

looking at my UCA's and LCA's while I have them out I am somewhat considering drilling and tapping them and putting some zerk fittings in just for easy lubrication down the road. I think this may be an easy option for most, my truck runs aftermarket UCA's and it has little zerks on either control arm bushing socket works great.....

I understand that they need to be relubed from time to time, but monthly is way to much. I may also try adding a zerk as well. Fuzzylog1c, can you move you upper control arms up and down, with ease? I honestly cannot budge them.

If you can't move your's up and down you may be over tightening them. I did the Rear UCA's with revshift bushings and after install I could still move them, they weren't loose but could be moved with reasonable effort. I drive in rain, and live on dirt roads; I get no noise from those bushings at all. Lubed them when I originally installed a while back and never again.

Did you torque yours? I just cranked them till they stopped with a 12" ratchet and a wrench. So I didn't think I was over tightening them. Its almost like the aluminium sleeve is to short, because isn't that what limits it from over tightening, to a point.

Since we're having problems with Formula 5, either a) we need to find an alternative that doesn't melt urethane, or b) just keeping lubing it up.
