Default M6 CTS-V1 to auto conversion (how to)

ok guys I just got some info on the conversion.. here is what I was given...

- Use flywheel for 4L80 and the spacer for adapt to the ls engine

- take the lenght of the drive shaft, change the yoke for use a 700 or 4L60 or what you want

-put the vss sensor in the 700-replace the shifter and make a little hole for the wire

-put the reverse switch on the shifter

-the best is your tranny was full manual, besauce you don't have to use the kick down wire

-tune the ECU for the speedometer

-go burn some rubber

Aaron, did he mention if there was any change to the transmission mount/support and whether a different starter would be needed?

Yours is turning into a 1/4 only car with an auto and a solid rear axle. Are you going reverse manual valve body so you can yank backwards? Can't wait to see how fast that animal knocks down a 1320. I'll never do it cuz I love to road race on big fast tracks. But it will be impressive to see another one... Plenty of videos!

My 80e is in my car already. Just waiting to get my jy 6.0 done so I can get her back on the road. I'm using a stock ecu with a seg swap on hpt

Is this a conversion for the handicapped or the lazy?

Was the stock T56 mounting sufficient it did it have to be alerted much?

I may never do the swap but that would be something to think about if I wanted to start drag racing more.

That explains all the automatic V2's.

I prefer permagrin which is why I yanked the 4l60E from my '96 Impala SS and slipped in a T56...and some 4.56's.

The mount will need to be notched and a tab welded to the back for the tranny mount

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it but on my swap the tunnel had to be cut to clear especially for the plug on the side of the trans. Also the trans had to be modified the tabs have to be cut. A custom transmission mount had to be fabricated as well as a custom drive shaft. My shifter assembly is pretty trick its a b&m but looks just like factory using the manual shifter, ****, boot etc lol

I had contacted RPM transmission on this in the past they took this on they said it couldn't be done correctly with out modifying the tunnel.

Im gping full manual but not reverse. Making custom trans mount and like mo powa said will have to do a little massaging and a custom drive shaft but had to get that anyway for solid axle. Yes my car will be for the 1320 and for the highway as well.

I too. Going woth a b&m ratchet shifter but woth a custom center console with my twp step, trans brake and lock up switch wired in it
