plug in & play AUX input!
http://www.kawal.net/auxinput.htm#Alternative%202
Came across this aux input for the C6.
I know there are some tutorials out there that turn the xm radio input, but my car came with a lifetime subscription of XM and want to keep it. Now this aux kit lets you keep your xm intact but disables it when you plug in your phone/mp3 player to it, but I'm not sure if this would work at all for our cars with or without nav.
So can any of you electrical/stereo experts chime in on this and tell me if our wiring is similar to the C6?
** 06/17/14 update **
I just confirmed with the person that makes these. The AUX 2 option is the only one that will fit. It connects from the xm receiver (in the deck lid next to the oem sub) and from there you would route the wiring to the center console.
** 06/20/14 update **
the "aux 2" kit in now installed in my car and works perfectly!

I did this, but I put the PAC in the front under the radio.

Where did you buy your PAC from? The link that's provided in the tutorial for the PAC used is no longer working.

the PAC forces you to physically flip a switch for different inputs though, right?
the modified harness seems way easier and you just plug in your aux device and go.

I got in contact with the guy that makes these and he says they might fit our cars. He just needs an up close picture of the plug that goes into the xm module to make sure. If I can get around to it this weekend, I'm going to take the rear deck lid apart and snap the pic he needs.

Any updates?
No aux input is killing me, this would be the ideal solution.

the "Aux 3" option seems to be the best since its easier to install. no need to splice or cut any wires, just plug into the rear of the nav unit and mount the aux input where ever you want. i like the fact that this option lets you keep your xm radio while also giving you an aux input without having to use a switch.
Were you able to confirm that his C6 harness also fits the V1's?
thanks!

^ The guy that makes these determined that the AUX 2 is the only one that will fit, not the AUX 3. I was finally able to snap some pics of the plugs/wiring that go into the xm receiver and email them to the guy.
Finally, a plug in & play aux kit for our cars!

good work on pushing for a good answer on this. glad we actually have a good source for an aux input that doesn't disable anything. now i have a reason to let my XM expire and i'll just play music from my phone like i really wanted to do in the first place.

Thanks man. It just sucks that no one made a true "plug in & play" auxiliary kit for our cars. I came across these by accident while I was searching on the net. And I just placed an order for one. It should be here in a few days, so I'll report back and let you know how everything goes.

Yeah I've been burning cd's for now just to get by, but that got annoying quick. And i had a trial subscription of xm radio, but that ran out this month. I missed using pandora, on top of the 800+ songs in my iphone.
