Suede/fake suede whatever it is. How can I clean it? Driver side is darker than passenger side and its annoying. My interior is tan

I use a suede brush to keep it fluffed up but as far as getting stains out, I was looking towards the foaming McGuire's carpet and upholstery cleaner...had good luck with it on the headliner...

You think Cadillac would use fake leather and fake suede?

Default real leather?

since we're on the subject, how much of the leather is real?

Isn't the back seat vinyl? Or at least some of the panels are vinyl? The sides maybe? Looked like it to me.

Thanks!

"Real" is a relative term ... What we have is a leather/vinyl blend that's much cheaper, stronger and resists stains and water. The only way to get that level of resistance is a full grain, and that's ******* expensive. I got a white leather top-grain couch and it was ... pricey. Even that has faux leather on the sides and back to keep costs down.

Most seats are leather blends. Few are top-grain. Even fewer are full grain. Almost all will combine vinyl, plastic and blends for parts that don't touch the body.

The subject of cleaning the faux suede has come up over on cf.com a couple of times over the years. I bought a suede cleaning kit (intended for shoes) a while back - mine's Kiwi brand, but same idea. Can't really tell if it does much, since I've got the black interior. I also (as a result of that thread) bought a Timberland suede brush, which is quite a bit bigger than the one in the shoe cleaning kit. It definitely helps "refresh" the material so that it doesn't look matted down. And this Sonax stuff was mentioned in the V2 forums over there and got very good reviews.

Based on internet research, I used Woolite mixed at 8 to 1 because its mild, cheap, readily available and has a great track record for being idiot proof.

My car has a 195k on it and from what I can tell the seats had never been cleaned and while I will go back and spot clean it again, the seats look fantastic!!!!
