I figured I'd do it when I started modifying the motor Heads/Cam/rear s/c gears etc. to get the best output from the combination.

It's next on my list of mods but not as cheap for me as I need to source a ~$300 90mm maggie snout in addition to the ~$350 LS2 TB, + ~$50 conversion harness.

Alas, I elected to stop my performance modding and sold the lot.

I've seen some guys do this swap on a Maggie and have it tuned and only picked up around 10hp on a back to back dyno run. I have done the swap (only because I had a 90mm TB from my FAST intake days and my stock 78mm failed) but have never had a chance to tune the car afterwards but it seems to drive fine without it. I also didn't notice any noticeable gain in HP.

I know this to be a great mod for the money. I can't find the thread but there was some one who put up the 90mm LS6 intake against the fast 90 (both ported) and the fast gained (if I remember right) 18 HP over the modified LS6. So bang for your buck you cannot beat this mod. Plus, it looks good, like stock. People would confuse it for a shitty LS2 when in fact its much better.
I mean for 350$ you can't beat it. I was going to do this mod on my car but I ended up with a fast 90 for 600$ so I took it. But 250$ for a guy on a budget IMO is worth it.
Also, you can get an LS2 TB cheap off the forum, and send it in as well for 100$ port job. In all for around 700$ it would be a great improvement over the 78mm hands down.

From what I've read 217-3153 opens the opposite direction and throws codes at WOT. I'm not sure if anybody ever got a work around tune for this condition though.
