New V owner
Hey everyone, new V owner here! First LS as well. Grabbed a 2006 last week.
Looking for advice on a short throw shifter, i ended up here reading old forums about "pisnuoff" i believe making a modified stock shifter thats pretty good. Is he still around?
Ill look around the forum for other questions and mods.
Love this car!

If your setup is all stock, it's highly likely that the original rubber shifter rail bushings are shredded or even completely gone. Replacements from Revshift (http://www.revshift.com/product-p/sbb-ctsv.htm) or Creative Steel (https://creative-steel.com/shop/04-0...fter-bushings/) will make a huge difference if the stock bushings are seriously degraded.
There's certainly more than can be done if your intention is to remove every last ounce of slop in the shifter assembly, but if nothing has been done to the car up to this point, start with those bushings.
As for the shifter itself, there are a couple of expensive options (Creative Steel's setup or the modified Hurst from user 07CTS-V), or you can go the cheap route and make your own short shift lever - https://ls1tech.com/forums/cadillac-...l#post15027908. We did that on my brother's V and I think it was a great setup; hindsight being 20/20, I wish I had just gone that route on my car rather than spending a bunch of money.

The creative steel one is nice, I’m about to install one.
I have ave had the hurst for 2 years now, and it’s notchy, but pleasantly firm. It’s really not a bad choice at all. I however have a new transzilla and want the smoothest shifting possible.
There is is a guy building me a MGW kit I’m really looking forward to testing. You can find he on the Facebook group.
Ill be moving the CS to my base model after I get the MGW setup and selling the hurst next year.
