I want to blackout my taillights. what is the best way of doing this. Film? Get the painted? What is the best quality? or does anyone have some that they want to sell? post pics please

VHT-Niteshades...I just did it last weekend (still gotta do the 3rd light)....dont you live close to me??? if so Ill lend ya a hand if ya need it....it's a little time consuming because of all the drying but well worth it, what color is your car anyways??

of course Ill help... the taillights I did for myself are growing on me though, so your not gettin em they're a little dark, but the only reason I dont like it I think is because the third isnt dont...as for wtb if you want you can usually find it locally at a hobby shop or a quick froogle and

i do live close to you i think....fort lauderdale, im in Tallahasse for another 3 weeks untill i get home from summer school though. do you have any pics on your car? My V is black. Does that spray tint really work bc i heard it would look cheap after a while. I looked into getting sending them out to get painted but couldn't settle on what i wanted

heres a quick pic of the tails....the red bleeds through better in the sunlight...but eh, and of course they're dirty, and need another polishing, but I still like em'...now all I gotta do is the 3rd light and I'll be set.

sure, you better order some VHT now though....I just placed an order and apparantly the VHT factory had a big fire, so all their stuff is on backorder...if your lucky you'll find a place that has it in stock, but I called a couple places and got the same response....but ya Ill do my 3rd and we can do both of your cars as well. Lookin forward to it.

real easy to do: I don't know the percentages but its a Clear paint with black and a Reducer.

alright, well what about the %...do you have any control over the darkness of the black...meaning can you lightly apply it to get that "smoked" look or will it always be the same shade of black. when using the nite shades product

oh no no its all about how how many coats you put on, BUT the key thing I forgot when doing mine is that it dries darker...most people like the black look I like it smoked, heres a picture of my tahoe that I did it too....just smoked.

of course different lighting changes it slightly, the first pic it was sunny out, the second pic dusk was rolling around...but you get the idea...if done right it looks badass.

edit: added 3rd pic, ignore my camaro....but as you can see it bearly looks like they have any tint on them at all.

as long as you clear coat over the nightshades you will be fine. if you dont it will eventually wear off.

exactly......I only put one thin coat of clear on the tahoe, and it started to get a little screwy around the 1 year mark....and to answer your question the camaro' was my first car that I drove for a while and being a 6cyl worth nothing to a dealer, so I kept it....the tahoe was I dunno a fling? Had plans of mudding and camping, but it never happened..only paid 16k for it and for 13,500 for it on trade so it wasnt bad....but ya Im payin $900 a month on loans V and Boat, the camaro is paid off, so I dont have that many cars...only 2 and I owe alot on the V Besides I work full time as an Appraiser, so i do pretty good.
