THink this car will ever become a collectable or maintain its value better than a regular CTS? I'm thinking of getting one. I'm here in the Detroit area and I see a few around on the internet with low miles. Just wondering if it would be a smart buy. I already know I'd enjoy replacing my Z with one.

Based on the resale value now, it would be a good idea to pick one up if you enjoy the car even if you do not think that it may increase in value.
I found a few 2004s with ~9000 miles for like low 30s.
Around here (NJ) though, its hard to find them, only one dealer actually has one in like 40-50 miles.

Hey!!
Most cars will go down in value in the 1st 2 years, thats just a fact but they do level out then the price will be determined by demand. I bought my stock '04 in March 06. It was bought & traded in at the same dealer. The guy wanted the new STS-V. Anyway, it only had 11k miles on it and I walked out the door for 32k which included sales tax and it being certified for 6 yr/100k miles. Now talk about a steal for me.......... I don't care how many rears I go through not that I did yet but I'm waiting, since everyone else is getting them. But I don't care since they'll just replace it under warranty.

2461 produced makes the '04 pretty rare. Since Silverado wrecked his, looks like the '05s are getting rarer to boot. I don't know about future collectablity, but they are sure to hold resale pretty well and they are a ball to tool around in and one helluva road car to boot.

From my experience with the '04, likely 2461 x 2. I understand the '06 - 07 diffs are beefed up some over the 04 - 05 units, at least I hope so. Mine has been over a month and about 2000 miles with no problems.
