Default anybody got flow numbers on CTS-V stock exhaust? Or removed resonator only?

by looking at the pics...doesn't seem as restrictive looking as the f-body stock exhaust -do they flow decent?

Also...anybody simply take the resonator out and leave stock mufflers? How's that?

I haven't on my V but it sounds like a good idea. Cutting a factory stainless exhaust irks me a little bit though. On my old 96 ss Impala, I removed the factory mufflers and replaced with 40 series flowmasters, can't remember if it had resonators (if it did I had em removed). That and a cold air setup got me damn near a second. That of course is where the easy hp increases ended.

looks like aluminized steel or something to me. the cat piping is stainless.

ill take a pic. my x-pipe is stainless and there is an obvious color difference. the aluminized stuff isnt affected by the heat.....

and my SS has the stainless slp catback on it.

oh, and my 07 tahoe has stainless cat pipes on it.

definitely different from the cat back on the V....

but, ive been wrong before....

cold flow? does that mean they flow cold air?

i wonder how much it would change if they tested with hot exhaust gasses? im sure the corsa would flow much better either way, but it would be neat to know how much faster the hot gasses flow...

okay, i'll keep biting. why do the cats and their pipes look different from the cat-back piping? and why has my stainless xpipe turned golden brown while the rest of the system is unchanged (see links above for pics)?

is it aluminized stainless? what would be the point of that?

From what my exhaust guy told me, they used different grades of stainless for different parts and different companies use different grades then other companies. I am not even sure that the cats are stainless. I only know that the actual catback is all stainless.

But who would you trust to know more about stainless...the welding nerd or the guy with the ponytail?

Quick Reply: anybody got flow numbers on CTS-V stock exhaust? Or removed resonator only?
