The KW is a nice piece, however, they keep the rear spring separate from the shock. This is a true coil over setup.
The bilstein shock has been proven for decades, and its the same shock that we use on the C5, C6, and Camaro coilovers for years.
These coilovers use a true spherical bearing on the uppers and the front lower mount, the factory rubber is retained for the rear lower mount.
Roll, dive, and overall balance are improved drastically.
We also use a Eibach or Hypercoil springs. A true linear rate.
We have a very aggressive testing schedule setup for these which involve street, track, and female driving input (The wife-approved mod ) over the next month.

I have now posted in all three of your threads, lol!
I'm interested, but would not commit to an order until hearing in-depth feedback based on street and even more importantly (IMO) track abuse. Also, spring rate options are pretty much a must have for me.
Great job bringing these coilovers to market, thanks a bunch to all involved!!!

I have not seen this asked so I guess I will throw it out there. What is the range of adjustability in regards to ride height?
My local shop is trying to talk me into a set of KW which I can get at his cost. He has them on his Audi RS6 and loves them.
I do like the fact that the spring and shock are not kept separate with these.

(pardon me for repeating, I have posted a few times on different threads)
On the street: the coilovers were very quiet, no noise very planted, firm but not harsh
(I had a harsh ride in my 1996 Cobra with Koni yellows & Griggs coils)
Highway corners at high speeds, V felt great.
The DTC30 front pads REALLY bite hard and as Moze commented with very little front end dive. I have not driven a KW Var 3 V or anything but I have driven a M3 (months ago) and I'd say it's more like the M3 (the way I remember it) firm and planted.
On the Track: about 1 week after install, I ran Eagles Canyon Raceway north of Dallas. it was a hot day (temps reached high 90's) once again the car performed well, but the heat and howling tires prevented me to beat my best lap time of 2:13 (temps were 70's)
Corners felt great, the caddy "squisy" corners are gone. It felt I could go WOT sooner (while hitting the apex) then before. Tires (AD08's) that did well before, but this time they were howling front and back on very corner. I'm now looking for better track tires for my OEM rims.
Post track inspection: I brought my V into Louis for a post track inspection and all was fine. Louis pulled the shocks off to inspected them. All was fine. I had Louis drop it about 1/2"
It's now HOT in DFW, 90 and 100's daily, not sure when next track day will be
...July????? hmmm....
But I will be back on the track with my V
PM me with any questions, or ride along requests..

Thank you again, Jerry. They sound really nice. So far though, I intend to go with KWs because of the extra adjustability, and I don't mind at all that the weight of the car is being held by the area of the structure that was designed to hold it.

Still haven't ordered mine. I've got everything else either here beside me or on the way.
Hotchkis sways
Powergrid front and rear end links
BMR front strut brace
BMR rear toe links
BMR trailing arms
rear cradle bushings, CS diff block, CS engine mounts, CS trans mount, CS diff mount
I'm having the roughest time with this decision. I would love to go with the Penkes, but I can't fork out $4k. The pros of the KW, to me, are their ability to adjust compression and rebound. The pros of these LG/Bilsteins, to me, are that they are far easier to adjust rear ride height and are fully rebuildable.
Has no one else bought these? Maybe someone who has also messed with the KWs?

It was an '04 (B6) S4 4.2... but it was an AVANT (Wagon).
I've been watching your track vids (actually commented too) at VIR, so you might enjoy watching this one. (Click here) Be sure to start watching around 2:45 after the warm up lap. It's not my vid, and he gave it to me cropped from the start.
On this day, I had the car sold (to get the CTS-V) so I didn't run it into the high RPMs. This is evidenced by how the M-Roadster sucked me in on the straights. Still, you ran around 17 secs faster than I did, which is an eternity. Of course, I wasn't expecting an N/A S4 wagon to keep up with a V. Still, this car rang in, if I remember correctly, over 4k and only had H&R springs.
Your time in the V was shocking to me, considering I only got a 2:03 in my 911. Made me happy to own a V!

We've exchanged a number of PM's. Your last one didn't have any questions posed, so I thought you were just thinking on everything. My apologies if it looked like I wasn't responding. I'll PM you Louis's number....it's a little easier to cover all questions and avoid these communication errors.
Again, my apologies.
