Thanks man!
A little update on how things ended up going the last few times out. I only got to make a total of 9 passes and I ended up going a best of 11.37@119 with a 1.69 60' with 31 degrees of timing I was pretty happy with that. I was still trying to get the A/F right where I want it before I added more timing to it. I got the A/F where I wanted it and the trans started slipping on me so I never pushed it any harder . I ran the last race of the year in a 12.0 index class so I could baby it and just get some more seat time, but I ended up breaking out in the first round
So over the winter I'm going to be going through the trans and adding some nitrous to the mix and have some fun next year

I have a 85 Cutlass I am thinking of going with a ls3 style setup myself. Back in the day I had a mild 388sbc with a sollid roller dual plane intake 200cc world products heads and a 700r4 with a 3400 converter and It would cut 1.59 60's with a completely stock chassis 28" slicks and 3.42 gears foot braking it so you should be able to cut a better 60' than that. You get it in the 1.5 range and youll deff be in the 10 second range. Could use some compression also I would imagine.

Wish my friend was well, he ran a best of 7.3 in the 1/8th at 96 MPH with a6.0 in his 79 Malibu, car looks like *** since it needs paint, so it is a sleeper since it is even quiet, he pulled me at first, but since he got sick i guess we will never know what could happen now a days.

Thanks man, I really hope so. Crappy part is that the local 1/4 mile track closed, so I'll be running 1/8 mile now. Might try and take a couple road trips to some 1/4 mile tracks!

The guy I bought the car from said it weighed 35xx lbs with a big block. (I'm not sure though how accurate that is because I think it is lighter seeing as it has manual brakes/steering, just a dash cover with gauge cluster, fuel cell. It does having original seats front and rear and carpet.) So based off what he told me I'm guessing around 34xx. I'm not really sure what the weight difference is meeting the two. I will be putting it on the scales later this winter to get a positive answer.

My Malibu weighed 3250 with my 400 small block in it. I weigh 200 lbs., the 400 had a grouted block and aluminum heads, th350 trans, Strange S60 rear end, glass hood, full interior w/ 6-point roll bar, and it also had 6 gallons of fuel in the 8 gallon fuel cell.

Would be good to see a plug after a run, do a chop and pull some plugs to see where the timing mark is and if its to rich..I would say 31 is up there with your compression it won't like much more thats about optimum you might get another mph with jetting though.
