Default Any one good at carb tuning?

I have a holley street avenger on my lq4 with a duel plain edelbrock and can not seem to get it right. I got the hesitation out of it buy changing accel. pump nozzel from 31 to 33 and got most of the lean bog out of it buy changing jets to 69 from 65. But if i am going down hill and just throttle in to it to keep speed constant my o2 gauge dives to 9.9-10.3 if i hold it there at same position it will stay at 10 or so to 1 but if i close throttle all the way ratio goes to 12.5-13 to 1. If i give it more throttle it goes up to 13-13.5. Any ideas?

EDIT: I just re-read your post, and I think your power valve is to large, reduce it 1 size.

This may be a stupid question but lets say it has a 6.5 now reducing it would be a 5.5 or 7.5?

5.5 would keep the power valve closed a little further into throttle opening than 6.5 therefor delaying the addition of extra fuel, at part throttle.
5.5 means the power valve opens when manifold vacuum reaches 5.5"hg. a 7.5 would open with 7.5"hg.

Ok thanks. I have a 65 in it now according to the factory spec sheet. Will look at getting 55. May also try going down on the jet a size. My plugs show it to be lean but my O2 gauge says i am at 12-13 most of the time. How much will timing affect air/fuel ratio?

Its best to get timing set close first then mess with the carb.
What is your timing curve? are you running a map sensor? - that will help the engine run the most efficient

Sorry it has taken so long. I am running the #2 pill with a map sensor. I am pretty new at trying to tune something. This is the first performance engine that i have had that is water cooled. My timing is 24 at idle and 37 max. The 37 comes in pretty fast. I want to say about 2500. I am using map. Also just ordered a 5.5 power valve and 4 hole 1 inch carb spacer. Do you think the spacer will help with low end?

Well i have receved a 5.5 power valve in mail today. Also a carb spacer. 1 inch 4 hole spacer with fancy grove to do something with the air. Any ways i hope for little more low end. My set up only runs 1700 rpm at but 65-70 mph and hills seem to slow it down a good bit. Also hope the valve gets my O2 sensor out of the 9 zone more.

I would say his idle circuits are too rich. That's what you are using at light throttle cruise speeds. I'm surprised nobody mentioned that.

If i try to lean it out the maniflod vaccum drops and it does not idle in gear. With the msd box set to make the timing best at idle...for got what the feature is acctually called....it is 13.5 to 14.5 to 1 at idle. It also lopes more that way...
